whats w this leveling other Pokemon as strategy. I used to just power level my charizard and brute force my way through everything, including the elite four.

Alakazam beats Gengar heads up because it has a 10 base speed stat higher than Gengars.

That being said though, in a Vacuum Gengar is the better pokemon for teams.

In later gens perhaps, but Nintendo messed up Gen 1.

this thread is made on a monthly basis by the Charizard copers. Your boy gets bodied by any decent team since he has weaknesses to all of the most common types. He is the coolest looking. Just be happy with that.

The problem is all your grinding was just to overcome the gyms. Smart trainers prioritize efficiency and beat them much faster. Lack of selection before Pewter means it's best to have the most effective starter for that gym. By the time you reach a gym that's SE against you, you're roster is filled with solutions.

Charmander was the classic trap for people thinking they were more clever and skilled than they really were hehe.

subpar trainer detected. not even gonna bother responding to your post other than to say that all my early grinding meant that the trainer exp from gyms and other future battles went further with my higher leveled pokemon, as opposed to getting ahead quick then having to grind even harder at higher levels since wild pokemon exp is significantly lower and almost insignificant past level 30.

That being said

I'm gonna go home and fire up my Gameboy Advance SP and run through yellow, red, blue, silver, AND gold all this weekend. fuk my plans

and guess what

I'm on that god-tier Gen I-V time bruh. Once an emulator works out the bugs it can't be beat. I already beat em on original equipment.
