Basically. I use it to post things so I can remember them basically. I only search things like locations to see how they actually are. It's not bad if you know to avoid the narcissistic morons.

Using the locations feature is awesome for finding places to travel to, restaurants to try locally or in a new place, etc. You can be the type of person to post selfies 24/7 or you can utilize it as a tool for discovering things and/or following your interests (cars, food, travel, guns, offroading, sports, etc).

I like Instagram, and I understand why it draws a lot of people in.

I don't have any problem with models or fitness models showing off on it, doesn't bother me one bit. More power to them.

I mainly use it to see what my close friends and family are doing, or follow breathtaking photography accounts such as the National Geographic Accounts. A lot of my favourite photographers post their photos on IG and I can analyse some of their best shots and figure out how to improve my own photography by utilising some of their techniques.

This, used to follow all those fitness sloots and narcissistic people then recently unfollowed all of them.
Noticed that seeing that chit constantly was actually affecting myself subconsciously, comparing my plain life to them and what not. Only follow people I have a genuine interest in now, and I only post pics maybe once a month.

You guys are missing the point, we could care less about using Instagram. Its the majority of the young population using it and falling into the narcissism trait that comes with it. Try finding a girl that doesn't spend half their life posting selfies every single day they wake up just to get "likes". I can safely tell you that statistic is very low going forward and it would only get lower.

IG is what you make of it. I like to share fitness stuff on there sometimes, a progress pic here and there or recipes that I've found, but it's maybe once a month.

Instagram tailors your feed to what you look at and what you like, if you like all the instathots photos, and look up all their accs in searches, then it'll turn up in your feed. If you don't like it, then stop liking their photos.

No desire to take selfies but I do have pics of myself. I take travel photos and like to follow feeds for cars, travel photos, NBA and memes. As others have pointed out your feed is whatever you want it to be. There are people who post endless selfies but I don't care because I don't have to follow them.
