Its humiliating for some (a lot) people to come around to admit "I need no contanct because you affect my emotional health", so they take the easy route. As simple as that.
OP, regardless of you getting back together or not, start a new hobby (like cooking lessons or woodwork??) to aply your energy and let this wave of sadness and resentment pass, otherwise you'll get into a depression. If and when you think you're ready stop trying to rationalize everything you both did, because our minds aren't equations. We may know why people did something or acted that way, but not everything, because even who did it may not know why. But at least learn with what happened (to identify when YOU are in love) so you don't come back to this place later in life. And forgive her and yourself, so you wont get jaded too and ruin your next relationships with the baggage of this one.

I've been in depression for 4 months, but I'm just starting to crawl out of it. But seriously, that is all good advice. I'm done thinking about it, done worrying about it. She can go marry this guy if she wants. And if she wants to try to come back someday (unlikely), she would have to beg for me to take her back, and I honestly don't know what I would even say. Hopefully I'd be in a position where I would simply laugh. But it's not worth thinking about. As far as I'm concerned, she's gone forever, and good riddance.
That being said, I forgave her and myself a few weeks ago, when I tried re-adding her on Instagram. That didn't work out, but she is still forgiven. I don't blame either of us. We both made mistakes. Clearly, it wasn't meant to be. Time to move forward.

That doesn't mean I don't still love her, or I don't still miss her, because I do.
But I've completely accepted the fact that she's gone and was NOT the one. I've made my peace with the fact that she's gone, and she's gone forever.
I no longer have churning knots in my stomach and chest 24/7. She is no longer the first thing I think about when I wake up, and the last thing I think about when I got to sleep.
I just feel strangely dead inside. Like an empty shell. I feel hollowed out. Emptiness. Nothingness.
But very little pain.
It's progress.

Not much of an update, but I fail at NC fellas.
Our anniversary was last month, so as a symbolic gesture, I shot her a ******** friend request. Unlike the Instagram follow in May, she didn't delete and block this time. But didn't accept either. Just let it hang. Nothing but silence on her end.
She's not very active on social media, but she updates a couple times a month. No pictures or interactions with Vladicuck whatsoever since May. He also stopped updating his page. Seems like something might've happened.
So it's just a hunch, but maybe he's not even in Ireland anymore. Perhaps Emperor Putin summoned our dear Comrade Chadimir back to the motherland. Either that, or his Ireland visa expired and he couldn't get it renewed. I suppose they could've split too, but I doubt it. The mom was just raving about him a few months ago, saying how perfect he was.
I know what you're gonna say Misc. I'm not doing myself any favors here. Should've just moved on and never looked back. I hate that I'm still thinking about her, but in my defense, I have moved on to a certain degree... I've kept busy, and I've dated 4 girls since February. Yet none of them compare. I'm still thinking this was the one that got away, brahs.

for you kids who wonder why divorce is at such a high rate - it's cause men ignore the million red flags that were all over the OP and still decide to pursue a woman

9 months is a long time, Bro. Shake it off. BTW, props to the ex, this bish knows how to do NC. (PS, it's super easy when you have better things to do.)

I thought they might be engaged by now, or at least posting pictures together. But nothing. So I'll update this thread if I ever find out anything more.
Am I in denial? I don't know. Forget about the relationship stuff, she was my best friend and now it's like she's dead, so I do miss her. I think about her every day. The friendship was more important than the romance. I would like to repair the relationship at some point, if possible. I'm not fantasizing bro, just thinking about what plausible things might have happened, based on the facts that I have. However, I am hopeful. I don't like going through life as if we were enemies. So someday, that might change.
Appreciate the advice tho. Will rep on R/C

I won't claim to be 100% over her, but I'm mostly there. I know that we are done, yet life still seems so empty without her, because we were so close. We stayed friends for nearly 1.5 years after she left, even though we weren't dating. We talked anywhere from every day to once a week. I actually think that if we were able to become friends again, it would help me move forward. Because she's changed. I still miss the old her more than anything, but that person no longer exists. I could be friends with the new her, and I know a lot of her former self is still buried in there, but I don't think I would be romantically interested in the new her once I got to know her.
Your situation is also completely hypothetical, because if anything, we would chat or e-mail online. The soonest I would possibly could see her in person would be over Christmas, and Vlad's never traveled here with her before (they're both low in money, and she came back in the summer alone, using flight miles). I don't believe she's planning on moving back to the states until next fall in the earliest, pending the doctoral school situation. However, it's still a good thing to think about.

I remember you brah.
You're still thinking about her. Gotta let it go. Easier said than done, I know. But this fantasy you have of winning her back or even being friends is never going to come to fruition. You don't need her friendship. She's dead to you. There was a time before you met her, and there will be a time after she is forgotten. You clearly aren't over her, but you will be one day. It just takes time. Sometimes, it takes months, sometimes years. But eventually, you will get over her. And you should. Because you don't want Chadimir's sloppy seconds.

If it's what is in your heart then maybe you should act on it. I'm sure you know the consequences and the risks you are taking by now, and if it's worth it to you, then you probably should go for it. Things of value take work and effort to get and often are risky. Even if it doesn't work, at least you'll know.

Also, how old are you?
Let me spit some knowledge from a 28 year old miscer. First love is the deepest, seriously. But getting it over helps you mature (usually) and understand relationships better (as well as how to move forward with your life). You're young and the grass is greener on the other side, but you haven't experience many other relationships (I'm assuming here), so you don't know if the best. Unfortunately, I no nothing of your relationship or the dynamics so I can't help you with that.
If you want the easy answer, yes, there will always be other women that can come into your life. Will they be better? I don't know, but there are some very high quality females, including one's you probably dreamed you would never have had a chance with that end up being interested in you. This **** happens, although I can't say when and where it will or at what point in your life it occurs. Unfortunately for me, the one time it happened I was unable to pursue it because I was already with someone else (although I knew it was coming towards an end). This isn't me trying to tell you to go for that other girl you're interested in over your current gal (if there is one), but more so to show you that there will always be other opportunities out there whether or not you stay with your current chick.
Again, you really have to think about how great your girl is and if it's truly worth losing her. If pussy is what you want, let me tell you it doesn't matter how hot the chick is, pussy is pussy and it all get's old after a while hopping from one chick to another for random hookups. But maybe you need to experience that for yourself, or maybe you will prefer that kind of lifestyle in the end. Not hating.

She was completely dedicated to me. The only problem was that she wanted to get married and have kids, and I didn't. I mentioned my feelings a few times, but we usually didn't talk about it and just enjoyed each other's company. We never fought and almost never argued.
Things started to sour in the fourth year, and she became more and more distant. Yet she rarely talked about her feelings. I couldn't seem to fix things. Then, after she graduated from college, she decided to study abroad for a year and get her Masters. I was very surprised by her decision. Due to the circumstances, we decided to go on a break, create a little space, casually date other people, and then get back together when she returned. You can see where this is going. Well, instead she met some Russian cuck that worshiped the ground she walked on. He was ready to marry her on day one. In fact, he was already divorced and had 2 kids back in Russia. She casually dated him for a year, delaying her return to the US because she had a teaching job there and she was busy applying to grad schools for her PhD. She always insisted that her relationship with this guy wasn't serious, and she was still affectionate to me.
To make a long story short, she finally came home for Christmas after 1.5 years of being my lovey-dovey best friend. But then, out of the blue, she refused to talk to me or see me. Finally allowed me one phone call and said it was over, she was marrying the Russian guy, and we were done. She insisted the decision was final, and she couldn't talk to me anymore. Completely blindsided me. Afterwards, I told her I needed to talk about things more, but she ignored all my calls and messages.
So I ended up losing the love of my life. Once the initial shock settled and the crippling realization set in, I freaked out and tried to propose. I told her she meant everything to me, that we could get married and work out all our problems. And I meant it. But that only seemed to make her angrier and she has blocked me on all social media since.
In the end, I am absolutely devastated, and losing her made me realize how much I truly did love her. It is the biggest kick in the balls one can imagine. I am completely filled with regret. I feel like I let "The One" get away. Yet I didn't actually want to marry and have kids. I was willing to make the sacrifice in the end, but I still felt unsure about signing my life away to fatherhood. On the other hand, given the choice of losing her forever or compromising, I was more than willing to compromise. But sadly, it was too little, too late.
So Misc, did I dun goof, or did I dodge a bullet in the end?

As usual with the misc, 90% of the posts here are borderline retarded.
He didn't want kids. What the **** is he meant to do? Make a baby to please his girlfriend? ****ing hell.
The marriage thing is a bit more of a compromise. It's possible to "come around" to the idea of marriage.
But in the end please don't be one of these "she was the one" people. There's billions of girls in the world, no-one stumbles across their soulmate next door. You just happened to find one of thousands (if not millions) of girls who will make you just as happy.
You had conflicting values on kids/marriage. You did the right thing by breaking up.
Surprised to see this disneyworld "You get the one go brah" bull**** from miscers. Then again... it's the misc isnt it.

Gonna share a little story here that I posted elsewhere, brahs.
I recently talked to a coworker who lost the love of his life in his college years, and he proceeded to think about her for the next 43 years. Ironically, now in his 60s, he looked her up on ******** and ended up meeting up with her in Australia. Spent a few days with her, she's rich and even paid for everything, and he did have a good time, but after trying to engage in some deep conversations, he realized she's actually a shallow person and it never would've worked. Now he says he's finally over her.
And it only took 43 years.
So now, I'm starting to think brahs...

Will update this thread in 43 years, srs

No easier way to get over someone than meet them a few years down the track after you've done seen some things and done some maturing only to find out they haven't.
"A stupid man's report of what a clever man says can never be accurate, because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand."

CLIFFS
-Dated girlfriend for 4 years
-She wanted to marry and have kids, I didn't
-She went to study abroad for one year
-We went on break but planned to get back together
-She met somebody else, casually dated, said it wouldn't last
-She came home for Xmas, I expected to see her
-Without warning, she tore my heart out and set it on fire
lmao, you know she banged like 30 different men while she studied abroad, right?
Why do you think everything changed after she came back. She sampled many different cawks. Some bigger, some smaller, some thicker, some curved that hit just the right spot that yours doesnt. She decided she couldnt stay with you for the rest of her life after being pleasured by superior men so many times. If she half way liked you, she would have atleast used use as a beta provider while shes cheats on you but it wasnt even worth it for that. So many cawks in this world she still wants to ride.

I DO have value. I'm no Chad, but I'm good looking, athletic, have a nice body, great personality, intelligent, I perform and write music, I engage in creative writing, I'm adventurous and travel frequently, I have diverse hobbies. I'm an interesting person. And by the way, this isn't some used car salesman chit right here. I don't blow girls away at first glance, but I'm unique and girls get to know me and they fall for me. I've inadvertently broken a lot of hearts over the years, which is why I feel like this is probably karma, and life has finally caught up to me. What goes around comes around boyos.
Ironically, the one thing I'm not is a provider. I don't make a lot of money. So girls have to fall for me for reasons other than money. And they usually do. But I had never truly fallen for somebody else before. Until now.
So in conclusion
Life is weird, life is strange
