Fuk this storm. Power is out everywhere in the triad. Trees all over the roads, quite a few accidents. Had to be the worst right when it’s time to get the kiddo.

That has to be awful in that heat.

Those pics and others I've seen online are just horrendous. It really does look like the aftermath of a tornado, not a hurricane.

Here you go everyone. A full 10 dollars an hour to cleanup debris after hurricane michael.

https://www.indeed.com/q-Hurricane-R...12ee7247128308

Absolutely pathetic how company owners think that 10 dollars an hour is something to be proud of. Especially for this type of work.

And then the federal min wage of 7.25 is an absolute joke. So after taxes you're getting like 5.75 an hour.

The entire USA should be ashamed of themselves that the min wage is still 7.25. And it's been 7.25 since 2009.
What a disgrace.

Workers should be getting a minimum of 21 an hour to do any type of cleanup after that storm.

Greed sucks huh everyone?

Every company is like a pyramid scheme. It all goes to the top and the 98 percent at the bottom get paid like crap.

Yeah, it was really bad. Got to the point where we'd sit in the car or drive around to get some AC and air. Power finally came back on a couple days ago, but then our internet and cable were still out and now it just came back on, so I can give a detailed reply. Had to use data on my phone that eventually ran out so couldn't use the internet anymore. We tried charging our phones in the car and with these mobile batteries we had stocked up on, but even that could only do so much. Not to mention our dogs being completely oblivious to what was going on, annoyed the hell out of us.

I finally get to see all the damage, and wow, my hearts and prayers go out to those who lost their homes and lives. Luckily we didn't get the worst of it, but it was hard enough as it was, can't imagine how others feel who got it worse. As for our damage, there's some trees and branches knocked down that broke gates and fences, and loads of debris that they've been cleaning up. I heard that 90% of my area was out of power, and there's still some people without power even though ours finally came on.

During the storm, we got a decent amount of rain with some roads that were slightly flooded, and some mild consistent wind, and then you'd get these huge gusts every now and then that looked powerful enough to knock the trees down all around our apartment, but luckily those winds were interval or we'd probably end up losing our place as well. We tried to stock up on food but the heat was killing it, so we'd drive out and go grab some food, and the restaurants were crowded, but everyone seemed to be in high spirits and helping each other out. Plus one for everyone keeping their humanity.
