Yeah priority pass kind of sucks, but better than waiting at the gate. Like what pwally said, at airports overseas they are usually a lot better. London has a couple that are really nice.

Only thing that limits me is that AMEX allows you to have maximum 5 credit cards but unlimited charge cards (Plat/Gold card)

Chase has a strict 5/24 rule (if you signed up for 5 credit cards in the last 24 months [business and charge cards don't count] with Chase or any other bank then they deny your application)

I started signing up for business cards to take advantage of the sign up bonuses...just make up a business name as a sole proprietorship that makes $1k annual revenue...approved instantly. Get the bonus....wait 12 months...cancel the card.

I have enough miles to fly to Europe and back several times now through Delta and American Airlines

Centurion Lounges are for AMEX Black and Plat members ONLY. No one else is allowed in. They serve incredibly amazing food with a full service bar ALL COMPLIMENTARY.
Spacious, chic, and luxury. You can take a shower or get a free massage before your flight.

AMEX are opening more of these lounges around the major U.S. airports and also starting to get some in international airports

Priority Pass lounges can be somewhat poverty compared to Centurion. The advantage is that almost every airport has a priority pass lounge which almost always has some sort of free food and alcohol. I tend to notice that overseas airports have much much nicer lounges. The Priority Pass lounge in Incheon Airport was incredible.

Side note: If you are flying Delta that day. You have access to any Delta Sky Lounge if you are AMEX Platinum card holder

I have the AMEX gold card and love that shyte. They just made the gold card/ rose gold card metal and it's really nice.

If anyone is going to sign up, use my link to get 55K points by spending 2k in the first 3 months. Referral deals are the best, that's $550 in points, can use it to pay the annual fee:

http://refer.amex.us/MARCBgOjv?XLINK=MYCP

I don't have the platinum since it won't benefit me, but the new Amex gold is the shyte. Best card out. I love AMEX.

Signed up for 4 cards this year

Cancelled 2 other cards after they hit 12 months of age

Cancelling cards lowers total credit limit which may cause higher utilization % = MIGHT hurt credit
Cancelling cards may hurt average age of credit history = MIGHT hurt credit

Cash or Debit card for the win. You can buy whatever you want with either one if you have the coin. And unless you travel for a living, travel bonuses are for peasants. Wow free airline tickets to Houston every two years, woohoo.

I suggest both of you educate yourself on the credit system before trying to argue against me. You're both clearly uneducated on the topic

Cancelling your OLDEST cards is what destroys your credit score. Cancelling 1 year old cards don't do chit to your score, assuming your total history is like 2 years

Actually the risk is 0. Every CC provider offers auto pay that you can have automatically pay the full balance of the card on the due date. At any time there are only 2-3 card you should even consider using anyway for the best rewards. I don't even know how many active cards I have right now because most of them I only get for the sign on bonuses. It is a no brainer to get a card that pays $200 to spend $500 but it most likely will be immediately forget unless it has great rewards.

I got approved for like 8 AMEX cards in the past year. AMEX hands them out like candy, unlike chase.

AMEX recently revamped the Gold card you're talking about. I managed to hear about it a few days before so i applied for the older card, they upgraded it to the new one, so i get all the benefits WITHOUT the annual fee.

idk whats going on itt but Costco card, Amazon card and United card have done me well. Normally get around $700 cash back a year, a free flight or two and 5% off on Amazon which is where I buy all my random chit.

Basically we're being petty for the sake of it by having metal credit cards and watching normies in awe when they get the privilege to swipe it for us at a restaurant/grocery store lmao but an argument ensued over the course of the thread lol

I pay my balance in full on regular cash back cards anyway so a charge card is not a big deal for me. It's not hard to consistently make payments when you get an email like a week prior advising your statement is due.

That feel when flying business class on a 5 hour flight for $70.

Work payed for an economy plus ticket, airline prompted me to upgrade to business class for an additional $170, $100 remaining on my card's airline credit... boom. $70 to have AirStacey constantly waiting on me for 5 hours, smiling ear to ear and bottomless cocktails with roomier plush seats.
