I literally cant even find a job that pays minimum wage. Bussers at my PT job only make $8/hour but they get tips too. most fast food places around here start at $9-10/hour.

Any 14-16 year old can get a job paying at least $8-9/hour.

I look in the paper and listen to radio ads and see/hear TONS of jobs starting at $16-18+/hour. Economy is booming, jobs everywhere, They cant fill them.

What grown adult is making minimum wage?!?!?

This, and it usually results in chittier working conditions/employees becoming overworked due to being understaffed to so it even suks ass if you get to keep your minimum wage job.

my point is that things are becoming more expensive regardless. but wages are not increasing. it goes beyond minimum wage. i make $78k as an engineer right now. my friend’s dad was making the same amount when he was my age as an engineer in 1983. yet he bought his first house for $70k and his college tuition was like $15 per credit hour.
you can keep raising minimum wage until everybody else is making 78k and houses cost 2 billion dollars +

Don’t like you’re situation, change it...amazing how that works huh? Feel free to apply that to almost anything.
so it doesn’t affect you. that’s your reasoning. do you care about any issues that don’t affect you personally or is it just this one?

If your business is doing so poorly that raising the minimum wage is affecting it, that's on you not the raise.

It has also not been the case that raising the minimum wage adversely affects anything but the businesses that were going to go out of business anyways. Every time we have this discussion, if the wage goes up, none of what people in this thread are saying actually happens.

I forgot to add they've been raising it annually from eight bucks by a dollar every year, still see "now hiring" signs at every fast food even though our minimum wage its at $12 atm, will another 3 bucks over a few years bring drastic change? Time will tell

read the fukcing thread. I already said what happens.

a company with 15 employees will cut 5 employees to retain the same monthly profit. The owner only cares about keeping the business profitable. now 5 people are jobless. There tons of other affects too. Mcdonalds cut staff for computers. the list goes on

The same could be said about the people who are in their 30s trying to support 3 children, still working a minimum wage job. That's on them, and not the government/people who didn't continually make bad life decisions.

Simply untrue. Aggregate prices were relatively flat from 1810-1910. Value of the dollar went down about 96% from 1914-2014.

What changed, you ask? A certain tribe implemented central banking, that’s what.
