I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure 95% of these racers man or woman come from a rich/wealthy family and just knew the right people.

It's a rich people sport

Pretty sure if I started racing at age 10 too I'd be a 10 time world champ by now......... Not very impressive when the talent pool only consists of a certain demographic

Its not about how young they are. Its about how much experience they have. Most of them drive since they born.

Look at verstappen for example, he won F1 Spain GP at 18yo. Against much older drivers.

Which evil mastermind let women drive such cars at that speed? It should be made illegal like dog fights and cock fights. They should protect women.

I was being serious.

The region of the brain known as the right ventrolateral prefrontal cortex is the part that asses risk isn't developed enough at that age or they simply haven't "learned" how to use it yet. there's lots of research to support this.

3 things that raise red flags with me (not to be an ass)
1. 17 years old
2. Female
3. Formula Race car

I mean don’t get me wrong, huge props on making it to Formula racing at 17 , however how much experience can you possibly have doing this at only 17?

Race car driving Formula cars has always been a sell of a magic show.

Karts and Formula racing is actually quite straightforward. Most people could probably learn to drive one as well as anyone else in just a few months and a few hundred laps of practice.

People always want to cuck themselves about the g forces.... oooh the g forces, such a miracle they can withstand it...

Its one of my pet peeves when people think its some miraculous thing. Like people already said, its just nepotism, the people who control motorracing are rich closed circuit snobs with specific cuck ideals.

Its not based on talent or intelligence, just arbitrary status and circumstance.

The true talents are in rally racing if you want to talk about talented.

At that speed you're not processing risk its just muscle memory and get into tunnel vision and spatial awareness.

You just keep doing things over and over until it becomes instinctual.

I’ve always wanted to be a professional rally driver, that shiet would be so much fun.

But feels bad man that you need money to even hope of becoming a professional. I would love to practice racing on a track, but I’d need a crap ton of money to pay for a good racing car (and then paying for maintenance costs, damage, gas, etc). I’m so jealous of anyone who has the funds to do this.

what? you serious bro?
I wanna see you ******* driving a formula one car and crashing on your first turn.
brb tires arent hot enough to grip and turn
brb brake pads don't have enough heat to brake before turn and slowing car down.
brb you are not going fast enough for the aerodynamics to help you turn and keep the car grounded
who ever said that is all about the g forces? I think you have watch too much top gear brah

the speed at which this cars require to operate is mind blowing.

Don't even bother engaging this guy, he's convinced the only reason he's not a multi time world champion is because of money. Seriously. He claims to be some sort of rain-man simulator driver but refuses to back any of it up at all.

Also, the reigning and 5 time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton grew up poor as hell with by far the worst equipment at the track, as well as being the only black family kart racing in Britain. But muh nepotism bro.

Whos bright idea was it to let a 17 year old female pilot a multi million dollar race car?

At 17 your brain is not even fully developed.

Feels. If I had a spare 20k I might get a Ford Focus and throw some rally suspension and brakes and roll cage and go to a Rally school or something lol

ok.... all really basic stuff, its called throttle control? You realize open wheeler physics are pretty easy one you use a skid pad right? Going around finding the limits of oversteer and understeer and after awhile its pretty easy, easier than a gt3 type car. Its just about smooth imputs, smooth throttle, smooth break, smooth turning. Beginner stuff bro, you barely seem to know.

Ok... that was intellectually dishonest, I did say I would be willing to race anyone on the misc, and I would dominate everyone on this whole website by over 1 second on any fast lap in Assetto or iRacing or rFactor.

all I said is that I dont want to reveal my records because they are under my real name and I dont want to publicly post that on the misc.

And Lewis wasnt poor he was richer than most people in general, just not as wealthy as the rest, but still over 100k a year. And on top of that its part of British culture which he is first and foremost a brit, not just a black guy. Brits and Germans have motorsport in their culture unlike my options in USA.

Max is better than Lewis anyway by now.

Nascar is more complex as a pilot than F1 is.

Open wheelers are all setup based -not driver based performance.

thats like saying a child cant be good at video games

when in fact most of the people who win in the virtual world are young people who spent their whole life developing a certain focus.

Its not like a heavy machinery operator who should be contextually mature, its like a child playing a video game. there is no time to think, its all just focus and muscle memory.

Like I said there is no time to think in a race car.

im not even sure if you are being serious or not.
Nascar more complicated than F1?
so you are comparing your video games skills to real life? rFactor? are you serious?
my mind is blown.
have you ever competed? have you ever ridden or even driven in a vehicle capable to reaching 200+ MPH (in real life), slow down to 30MPH and accelerate back to 200 in less than a minute?
let alone take turn after turn at high speeds? you think this is all as easy as "throttle control?

is this real life?
I bet you also think you can win a war all by yourself too because you managed a 50 killstreak on COD
because is all about "trigger control"

Shame they did let Loab race in F1 to see how he'd do. Red Bull reckoned he had mid-field pace even with the little amount of F1 and circuit racing experience he had.

I'd say basketball requires much more skill than racing and is much harder to get to the top in basketball rather than racing. Racing is all about who you know too.

So she had been sliding at full speed sideways and backwards for quite a long distance before she got to the corner in the main crash clip.

It makes it look like a crazy mistake because how all the other cars are going slow but she totaled her suspension and ability to stop or grip long before the corner.

She just got out of surgery and her spinal bone was fixed and luckily her spinal chord was not damaged. She will probably race again.

People making sexist comments are doing it at an ugly time, ugly thread
Do you want to go cry in the corner?

Just give me a few months and a few hundred laps of practice on Xbox and I'll be right there with you.

lmao @ Formula 1 being easier than NASCAR.

Nascar isn't as easy as people think.

Most indy and formula 1 guys who come to nascar struggle.

You have to do things like actually shift gears and everything on the car is analog.

Not sure what you think sims are these days, but yeah, I have driven powerful sports cars, used to have a Z4 3.5 and my good friend has a 150,000 Mercedes CL63 with more power than I could ever use and I drove the same cars in sims and its the same principles.

Would have went straight to the top.

ez there old yeller. I would race circles around you in any car type in real life or sim

maybe that wasnt the case in your day grandpa but thats the future of racing is in sim training and sims.

Future F1 Driver Lando Norris:

Max spends all his downtime in sims

These aren't your generations sims grandpa

By the way driving at the limit in real life is easier because you have all the feeling you need to feel the spatial awareness of the car.

In a sim you dont have that extra feedback so its actually easier to drive in real life if you have skills.

Times are changing Bub
