Yeah, they are hefty sonsofbitches. Good for generator tie-down too, probably stronger than any of the gen frames they'd be attached to lol

Especially around ski racks, motorcycles or bikes where people are more attentive to stuff like that. It's not high security where you can be completely away for a long time but it's good if you'll be nearby with like minded folks around and just want to avoid the opportunistic snatchers.

Back when messengers were a thing I swear half the messengers were using the heavy chains and a u-lock. Too much bike theft not to.

Game of Thrones folks

If you've only watched it once, you really need to watch the whole series through a second time. Once you know everything, there's so much more to pick up on. Things just leap right out at you like IT'S RIGHT THERE THEY'RE TELLING YOU but the first time through...not a clue.

And Ned Stark was an honorable man...every time somebody says that, you just have to think...more honorable than you even know

Spoiler!
srs spoiler you've been warnedSpoiler!
Just now (S5) Maester Aemon aka Aemon Targaryen says something to the effect of, a single Targaryen left alone in the world (speaking of Daenerys after Aemon dies) is a terrible thing and BAM focus back to Jon 'Snow' walking through the door front and center...not long after they were in the winterfell crypt talking about Sansa's aunt Lyenn (sp?) like she was basically a nobody *cough*Jon's mother*cough

But so much more. So much story that you don't get is being told until you know the rest.

I went back and rewatched some of it, and you’re absolutely right. Even just little details about future character interactions and small pieces to the story and characters were clearly well thought out. Hopefully the last season doesn’t disappoint.
Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

Performance and performance alone dictates the predator in any food chain.

I looked into that a bit.

I try to remember a few things

1. It's a lot easier to pick a lock under no real stress at a table with great access indoors in a comfortable position etc

2. Many are known for dissembling locks (they know the code or have the key to help as needed) and removing parts of the mechanism then putting it back together for the "pick" video

3. The kinds of folks who actually have legit lock picking skills are unlikely to risk themselves over stealing whatever it is you have under lock and chain

Looking at stats will show that a lock being picked, even a really poor lock that's known as easy to pick, is rare.

Worry about whether your home's locks can be bumped, and how large a pair of bolt cutters are needed to cut your cables or chains (IE get something that needs an angle grinder to get through in a reasonable amount of time)

All true . . . but his use of an easily-carried hydraulic cutter is pretty worrisome . . . and a couple wrenches to break shackles in a second.

It makes the battle seem more threatening. If only random bit players are dying, why should you care? Why should Daenerys?

Also, it wouldn't be Game of Thrones if characters people like and view positively weren't dying all the time.

You thought Daenerys might die in that episode or season? lol, they got you good

We know it wouldn't be GoT if people you liked didn't die. That doesn't change that it's disappointing when a character you like who is a badassSpoiler!

I didn't think DT was dying, she's the show.

Making it matter to her is why he dies, and he is killed by those guys because they're the threat.

Morning!

Looks like it quit snowing yesterday afternoon.

Just like clockwork, watching the first vehicles in a ditch: SUVs. Many suburban drivers frankly need to go back to drivers ed.

Meanwhile, I'm whizzing past them in my little Corolla. The traction control is pretty much useless. All it does is beep when my wheels start slipping.

My guess is that it's a combination of not so great, and often overly worn, highway all season tires, and over confidence as a result of not thinking consciously about how 4WD doesn't help you stop or really help much with turning

Yeah the past couple of seasons haven't been as good. They're still great, just not as good because there's a lot of dumb ****. I think the writers kind of suck, as you can see once they ran out of book that they could copy paste.

Spoiler!
night king could've speared jon snow but then pauses and spears the dragon. A good writer would've written that the dragon was coming at night king to flame him so he had to kill dragon instead. Little things like that which a writer that's not brain dead could fix with like 4 words in the script.

Jon snow fat friend that goes to learn to be a monk performs surgery on the forever alone friend zoned guy with gray scale. Fat friend doesn't contract it, hes basically cutting off the guys skin. They put the guy in quarantine for 48 hours to see if he goes completely crazy but then less than 24 hours (it was literally only one night) after the surgery the guy is all healed up and his skin is scarred up (in like 12 hours). Sam (now I remember fat guy name) and forever alone are now buddy buddy cops, yay! The head monk guy is just like "heh cool story, I guess you're no longer sick, gg you're free to go" rather than keeping them both in quarantine for a while to be sure. So its ****ty plot development where forever alone and Sam are supposed to be friends now, which is unconvincing. A simple extra sentence of dialogue from the head monk after the surgery "sorry we had to quarantine you for a few months, we had to be sure you weren't sick any more"

There are so many examples from the past few seasons. The **** with arya sweeping floors, never really learning anything, then suddenly shes a bad ass assassin that can parkour through the streets and regenerate from stab wounds.

From what I've heard is the books are way better. They're great because they're well written and there's no freebies for the "good guys". The "bad guys" win a lot. Lots of shades of gray for characters. Lots of good character development. None of this deus ex machina.

I hope they reboot the series in 25 years to remake it where they just copy paste from the (then, hopefully) completed books.

Danny won't die because shes the ultra feminist. I bet at the end of the series their government will no longer be a monarchy but instead be a democracy with full on socialism. Because hyper progressive wet dream. The author of the books is self proclaimed feminist.

I just lol at people who think the past few seasons of got is amazing writing. Look at The Wire, Deadwood, Fargo, True Detective, etc. Many more shows that have plots that make sense. Recent got is still entertaining because tits and action, but like I said in spoilers tag in previous post, so much stupid **** too (because the writers suck)
