Because women use “lack of connection” as a pretext and euphemism for “lack of baseline physical attraction.” They lie to themselves or to their friends or to the guy to spare his feelings.

For example when I turn down second dates, I just politely decline the offer without giving any reason. That way the guy can just drop it and move on. But if he does press for a reason, then my answer to him is a generic “I’m sorry but I just didn’t feel any connection.” Because I’m not going to outright tell him that I was not attracted to him.

So I’m using that term in the post date conversation as a euphemism and social convention to politely turn someone down without making it personal.

And again I haven’t read the book but I think that’s what many women do. So it’s very possible that the book is conflating that and taking “lack of connection/chemistry” literally to mean a mental connection/spark, when it really might just mean something physical.
Speak for yourself, not all other women. You do not represent a typical woman.

A couple girls I really loved I could "feel" them. I mean I knew when they were going to call, I could instantly find them in a crowd, it was like a magnetic feeling, like the needle on a compass.

My gf lives far from me and she frequently worries what I'm doing. I could feel that and intense love feelings mixed with ideas about several important ideas. I mentioned these feelings and she then told me that she was thinking about me a lot and then mentioned the topics I was thinking about.

I believe certain people can feel other people and it's not just about looks.

Why are you even dating if you're not looking for that?

Seems like you got hurt and now you don't fully trust anyone.

It's sad but it happens. Older people have more baggage because more things have happened to them.

For a guy who is attractive/cute/nice/normal, don't you think chemistry/connection can grow over time?

If you think it has to be there from the first moment, like a lightning strike, then it's no wonder you have such trouble.

Why don't you try to find someone who you're compatible with? Dating apps might be your best bet.

The more she post about her personal life the more it makes sense. Im assuming she cooks, reads, watches Greys Anatomy and cares over her plants. This isn't all bad but god damn.

My gf called like ten minutes after I posted this and I told her about it.

She was like, "what!" and listed all the things that makes a connection possible. I found it adorable.

I can't have sex with people I don't feel good about and have my best interest at heart. In addition, I tend to view everyone as equal, so I can spend time with women and not feel the need to have sex with them, but that's just a friend thing. They are like guys to me.

I can't imagine having sex with my friend.

Anyway, have you actually been with a man you don't feel emotionally connected to for a sexual/fun relationship?

It sounds frustrating to me.

I think they are having trouble because they are fit and look for the same. I have a lot of female friends who have remarried over 40. They met him in person though, not with online dating, which sucks. One guy I know met his wife on Plenty of Fish, which is bizarre as that site is horrid.

If you would love to have a relationship with someone like your FWB, then why not do it???!! I keep asking this because for one the thread title is wrong, you're not FA if you have an ongoing FWB.

He wants to get you pregnant and cooks for you. Get him to move to your area and have him be there to cuddle on the couch. Maybe have a baby with him before you get too old.

Do you watch movies and sports on your computer??
