And do you really not understand the difference between introversion and sociopathy??

An introvert enjoys being alone and gets energy from solitude. An introvert can socialize fine but it’s draining for them to continually give attention to people, so afterwards they need time alone to rest and recharge.

And just out of politeness they might fake enjoying a social interaction when they really don’t. Extraverts can actually experience that too when they’re in social situations they don’t really want to be in. Like say you are at a family reunion and your distant relative comes up and starts telling you details about her medical problems.

You probably don’t really want to hear that, but you’ll fake some interest just to be polite, and then try to end the conversation in a polite way after a reasonable ammount of time. Same for introverts but for introverts that just applies to a much larger portion of social interactions.

Very different from a sociopath, who has no morals and is not a good person. They will lie, cheat, steal, and manipulate to get what they want, and use people and discard them without any empathy or remorse. So they act fake to manipulate people and get what they want. Very different from faking social interest just out of politeness.
Could just probably be an age thing. Might just be past the point this introversion being a phase borne from lack of exposure. Which really is the only thing i can relate to. Would be cool if you met with a miscer though. Just so theres an idea about how things play out with you.

It's not an age thing, but like many personality traits, the way it expresses itself can change with age.

I don't really see how it applies to you in the context that has been talked about here. I think of getting out of your shell as doing something you want to do, but are afraid to try. Like me in going out to eat alone. But pushing someone to do something they don't even want to do? Unless it's because they're unhealthy or something, like losing weight, exercising, etc. I'd say nah that's not it. It makes me laugh to think of people pushing alcohol on someone. Are we in high school?

-No pics of SS
-SS will not change her ways
-SS seems content
-SS is semi trolling ya'll

Nothing much more to see here.

Mind=Blown this is a 20 page thread even with 50 posts per page. How do you feel about your misc fame Silencespeaks?

I'm not talking about alcohol at all, I'm just speaking in the general sense.

And actually it is often some activity that you don't "want to do". You immediate instinct may be not to want to do it, but it may end up being beneficial. An example may be public speaking, attending a meetup alone to meet a group of strangers, or booking a last minute flight. Experiences like that are not things you may immediately "want to do" as an introvert; in fact you might resist them by default - but may end up enjoying and being glad you did it in the long run.

Yeah, peer pressure. So glad I've always had a strong will and don't give in to peer pressure. Hoping my son has that as well.

Oh, I agree that the things you mentioned can be beneficial to someone who's afraid or intimidated by doing that stuff. I just don't think that pertains to SS. I'm also speaking to the posters who've insisted that you have to drink to be fun and not boring. If someone is boring without alcohol then they're just a boring person. You'd have to keep them buzzed/drunk 24/7 in that case.

This is what I found so amusing about spade's advice. You have someone who clearly lives for his relationships to be one quick dopamine hit to the next, and has no LTR relationship with anyone, telling SS (who has already been in a LTR via marriage once) how to find a mature LTR. You can't make this stuff up.

And I didn’t date at all for a long time after my separation/divorce. But during that whole time I just assumed in the back of my mind that once I was ready to date, I would quickly find a new relationship.
I see this a lot here. Legzz pretty much I think was the same way. All the ones who are divorced here, you, legzz, Katya etc. are so nice and feminine, yet I can't believe that everyone has so much trouble finding a relationship after 40. Well yeah, actually I do, since all my aunts that got divorced, never remarried. I already know for me it would be impossible. If you guys are having trouble, what chance do I have? I think zero.

In my experience. I always remember in my sociology book back in the day was a quote saying something like "it's more likely for a woman over 34 to die in a terrorist attack than get married". Never forget that.

Also, almost every female I know that used to have easy access to boyfriends in their youth, cannot find anyone. This goes for my best friend also, and she is super nice and fun person.

I never had any boyfriends even when I was young, not so much to do with my looks, but more to do with being weird, so I am not delusional about my prospects if it ever came down to it.

TBH, the older you get, less time you have to waste. So if I were out there, I doubt I'd be like "oh, my gaawd, need to save myself to the right person". If I have that attitude, I'll be dead before anything happens.
