I'm a dad, misc

After a 41 week and 5 day pregnancy, my Son Gabriel made his much anticipated arrival into this world on 1/14/19, at 4:28 in the morning.

He was 8 lb. even and a whopping 22" tall, which does not even register on most height percentile charts! He's also got massive feet, so big they didn't even fit in the squares of the form on which you put their footprint.... hopefully that corresponds into adulthood, he'll be a 6'4" Chad with size 13 shoe, and I didn't pass on my 5'9", size 10 shoe genetics.



My wife labored only 2-3 hours, and only pushed for about 10 minutes. In fact it all happened so fast we nearly had the baby at home! I live 3 miles from the hospital and he was delivered within about 15 - 20 minutes of arriving. All the pain and wonder of having a child packed into just a few short hours, with no time for any intervention or medication, has completely changed me.




I still don't think it's quite hit me yet, we were home about 24 hours later and as we sat down to our first meal since returning, we both just sat in silence, staring at him as we ate. This is indeed the most proud I've ever felt in my life.

I just welcomed my 3rd, all girls. Love them more than anything but wish I could of had a boy too.

The workout thing is funny because most people think you’re kidding or crazy about getting your kid into working out and eating healthy but honestly you don’t even have to try if you set a good example. My 7yo and 4yo both join in when they see my wife or I working out. It’s great to get them involved and they love it, adding resistance to my pushups by sitting on my back or doing their own with near perfect form, makes me proud. They also eat what we eat, no fussy eaters unless you let them be. They are eager to follow what mommy and daddy do so just keep doing what you’re doing and watch him grow into a beast!

Those big babies often do end up big adults. My first 2 kids are 19 and 20 now, both really tall, son is also huge.

My wife and I have a new 2 YO, we made a Scott Ukrainian. He just turned 2 and is already in his 4 YO cloths, towers over the other 2 YOs.

Yeah I noticed that too, it's a result of the estrogen from mom. his balls and eyes are swollen too, also from the estrogen. Goes down in within the first couple weeks.

Well it all happened at the hospital so quickly there was little time for emotions. I teared up right when they plopped him on my wife's chest, and since then it's been a transition from surrealism.

Financially, I'd say we're fine. Wouldn't have had a child if we weren't.
