Black Panther was a mediocre superhero movie. Wasn't even the best Marvel movie of the year. Infinity War was better.
Academy only nominated Black Panther because it gives them the opportunity to nominate a film people actually liked and virtue signal at the same time.

Dark Knight didn't get a best picture nomination, but Black Panther does...lol @ The Academy and their plummeting Oscar ratings.

It's just your typical Oscar nod for _____ political reason. This time (and most of the time) it's because of race. Nobody genuinely plans on voting for it.
