Lol nah i just wanted to see for myself if it worked. It's a huge waste of time since it only works on 20 min+ games, due to the time it takes for the computer to think of its next move. Not planning on doing it again.

Tellin you, when you're on lunch or home taking a chit, put on longer games and you'll improve a lot. When I started on chess.com I was knocked down to about 800ish. Got over 1000 after I learned to not hang my pieces and watch out for mate in 2's.

I don’t play rapid, but on occasion when I do it appears to be same as the other stuff. Maybe a bit higher, bullet is the hardest to keep up the rating. Some people are just so fast and tricky in time trouble. In bullet mistakes are usually fatal.

mirin. I’m at 1600, broke 1700 a few times but got nerfed back. 3+0 is a helluva drug..

I suck at black tbh. Usually play the Sicilian, after castling short I get pawn stormed king side... not sure how to defend that effectively atm.

Wot do to counter h4-h5?

I was already about 1800 at 5 minutes blitz when I tried a 2 minute bullet, and I was shocked at the speed one must play with, as well as tactical, positional, and opening knowledge. But after getting used to it, I play pretty much only 1 minute bullet these days. Sometimes even hyper bullet lol (30 seconds per game), the adrenaline rush is hilarious and fun.

The key is experience and tactics, combined with at least some positional and opening knowledge. Basically solve lots of puzzles, and solve them over and over, not just once.

I assume you flank your king bishop to g7 when you play Sicilian as black? Dragon Sicilian? Then white’s h-pawn push is called the St. George attack. You should play that yourself as white and see how black reacts, you will start to notice patterns and effective plans that annoy you when you play white, and then you will begin to do the same stuff as black.

The strategy for black against St. George attack is very standard. Here are some typical ideas:
- play pawn h7 to h5 yourself which may slow down the assault (white’s h-pawn can’t go to h5 this way), this is known as the Soltis strategy/variation, named after American Grandmaster Andy Soltis who developed it.
- go berserk on white’s queenside, Qa5, Rc8, shove your b pawn down white’s throat (b7-b5,b4), if you can distract white from his own attack you usually win as black. Rook sacrifice on c3 for white’s knight is standard way to breach white’s defenses, notice that white knight on c3 guards a2 pawn, so if you sac your c8 rook for that c3 knight, then your Queen can eat a2, often supported by your e6 bishop.
- Watch for opportunity for black knight on f6 to eat white’s e4 pawn, even if it looses the knight, since your g7 bishop can do damage then to white’s king position. Black pawn to d5 is another standard center counter attack to counter white’s h pawn storm.
- try to keep your g7 king bishop and f6 knight, this way it’s very hard for white to mate black.

Those are standard strategies. You can also watch YouTube’s, or follow very strong players and see what they do.

Chess brah is cool, he posts on here???? I was thinking to take lessons with him online if he would accept me as a student. I’d like to break 2300 etc. Almost got to 2100 not long ago, was like a few points off on lichess but further progress requires serious study.

Solving tactical puzzles of all difficulty ranges is best. You don’t have to play many (if any) long games to get to 2100, no worries. In the Dragon Sicilian, if white castles long and you castle short and white goes for the h-pawn push black usually will need the queen bishop on d7 or e6, or sacrificed on g4, not flanked on b7.

Dragon variation (black bishop flanked on g7) is a really good opening for black, no need to change, it’s a good idea to know more stuff of course, so changing will teach you new things, but the Dragon is a great opening for black.
