I don't know about all that "It's happening" stuff. Seems like that gif gets thrown around way too much and nothing ever happens.
Would be neat to meet some aliens before I die though, if not meet them to at least 100% know they exist without any doubt. I mean, yeah it's for sure possible and some questionable things have happened but there's still room for plenty of skepticism.. weird coincidences happen, hoaxes, 2019 technology/video/pic editing so you just never know...
For a long time I thought for sure the famous lights over phoenix in 1997 was a real UFO. It looked absolutely massive, 1997 so less chance of editing and 100's of people actually witnessed it and called authorities.. Now just recently I find out that there's an explanation for that (a pilot dropping flares) and it disappointed me and ruined my interest in following anything alien related again.

sorry scientists, its probably just a flat rock going through space, why it's accelerating more.. who fukin knows.. guess it must be aliens right, not going to disappoint me again.

why would we wanna blow it up!??

Believing in space aliens has to be about the dumbest thing ever. Even if they did exist and they could travel here, it wouldn't be in a rock. Because, it's a fcuking rock.

do you have any idea how many galaxies exist in our universe? and how many stars are in those galaxies? and how many planets and moons orbit around those stars? the chances of zero life outside our 1 planet are mathematically impossible, even if the chance of life is unbelievably tiny.

literally only brainwashed religious people think no other life exists out there.

i know all about the fermi paradox. the problem is it isnt really a paradox - its just stupid. why havent we been visited before? maybe we have! maybe they chose not to! the whole "paradox" rests on a gigantic assumption and weak premise. is ASSUMES we've never been visited, and it ASSUMES that aliens are even aware of our existence, and it ASSUMES that if they were aware, that they'd voluntarily visit, and it ASSUMES that if they visited, the public would know about it LULZ.

im also familiar with the speed of light - but did you know space itself can bend and move without a speed limit?

ever heard of the drake equation?

also, bacteria is technically alien life, and whatever we find doesnt = whatever exists

This. Being completely alone in this vast and never ending universe frightens people so they cope by saying "we cant be the only beings in the universe".

1) Not believing in space aliens is borderline mentally ill.

2) Nobody knows what it is, that's the point. But a top scientist - the type of person who would like to rationalize things - is admitting it's showing artificial behaviour, and nobody can prove him wrong. Which is a breath of fresh air from the usual science evangelists

3)That picture you see of it? You do know that's a computer generated image right?

Please tell me you didn't think that was an actual photo..

life, and of course advanced life moreso, is so ridiculously unlikely that if you gave the numbers to whichever mathematician you choose they'd tell you it's impossible.

to assume the existence of life on earth as "1" in an equation of probability is crazy.

it's like saying "the winning numbers of last night's lottery were 10 17 18 43 65 13 14 32 55 6 61 4 16 51 22 15, therefore if i play these numbers in every lottery from now on i'll win" (increased amount of numbers for more reasonable example), except much less likely.

just because something has happened once, it doesn't mean you can use that single data set to reliably predict future outcomes.

Ifthat scientists hypothesis is actually true, it is much to thin for it to be anything inside. It is also much to fast and passed our planet a year ago.

The thing traveled with lots of speed on an unknown route through our solar system. Scientists barely sensed it and pictures online are just possible reconstruction of what it could be. Even it's real shape is pretty much up to debate. Scientists are asking themselves why it moved so fast and why they didn't find any asteroid tail. Some solutions are:

-Harvard brah in the OP says it could be propelled by the sun/a sun sail. For this to possible it has be 2milimeters thin, which makes it likely it has been built by Aliens. This does not mean Aliens are coming to visit us though. It would just mean some of their trash thrown into space by them 100s of years ago drifted by by.
-Other scientists say the measurements could have been inaccurrate due to it's speed and it might be a normal asteroid, whose tail we just failed to sense.
-Many scientists told newspapers it is some huge chunk of rock/metal that just moves in ways we cannot explain with current models/have not witnessed before.
-People all over the world believe it to be giant UFO, but considering scientists believe it comes from 100s of lightyears, it hasn't left our solar system yet and is slowing down, it doesn't seem to make any sense. Who travels for thousands of years without much of a goal? Space Gypsies?

Each of these is a totally

The problem is, you're looking at it based on current human limitations. You're assuming that even if we achieve the speed of light, it will take millions of years just to get to another solar system in our galaxy.

But who was wormholes? Who was manipulating space/time/gravity? Just LOL if you think a civilization even a thousand years ahead of us would use vector thrust engines.

As for the Fermi paradox, that is easy to dismiss. Somewhere there is a mound of termites that has never seen a human. Therefore there are no such things as humans?

Such cope.

Huh? It's a Tim Burton movie from back in the days when all of his movies were critical hits. The special effects were cool and it was generally well-regarded as high quality.

It's a spoof of the old UFO movies from the 50's. Lots of cameos in the film too. I have no idea how it can only be a 6.3 on imdb. Probably a bunch of slack-jawed *******s downvoted it for some SJW reason we don't know about. Film is easily a 7+/10 film by imdb's normal standards.

EDIT - I just checked. It looks like an army of autists rated the movie at 1/10. They might be 'bots.

Wormholes don't exist in real life. It is a purely theoretical concept and there's zero evidence to even begin "guessing" that these things exist, much less used by aliens.

You're taking a stretch beyond a stretch here brah, all because you really would like it to be true so you're using whatever it takes to justify it in your head. I know how it feels. I grew up on Sci fi but I've been able to keep an unbiased expectation and not let my curiosity get the better of me.

2 things wrong with this:

1) If you think that we are the only life in the universe, I would argue that the chances of that are WAY more far fetched than assuming we are just another rock with life. Not that I don't believe in God, I just don't necessarily believe that we are his only creation. I'd like to be proven wrong, but for the time being I'm leaning towards we're not as special as we think we are.

2) The likelihood of life in this universe is overwhelmingly likely, not the other way around. Scientists only state that it's highly unlikely that theuniverse itselfhas the laws of physics required to support the spontaneous occurrence of life. Proof of God? Maybe. Doesn't mean aliens are not part of his menagerie though. Scientists like to cope with this fact by inventing 'multiverse theory'.

What proof can you possibly show me that wormholes don't exist? That was just one example. Just try to imagine a civilization that is aMILLIONyears more advanced than ours. It's highly likely we can't even conceive what technology they have developed. Our brains are simply not equipped to envision it. if we survive to the point where our tech is at the level it needs to be, here's how it could be done.

1) send out self-replicating autonomous robots to colonize a candidate planet. when they're done creating shelters and crops and everything necessary to support human life.
2) send a cargo of frozen human embryos to be incubated and raised by the robots as the first generation of colonists.
3) give them a data dump of all human knowledge from Earth and they are on they're own to build their colony.

You could colonize planets very far away in this way, because you need not transport living beings requiring life support.

God damn youre dumb as ****. The fermi paradox has nothing to do with if we have been visited or not. Its simply stating we see NO proof of alien life in the observable universe so far. And given the age of the universe and the gap of development between civilizations we should see alien civilizations that are super old and new. Or at least trace evidence they have ever existed. We have seen 0 evidence so far.

Many reasons why that might be, but it certainly appears as though intelligent life like ourselves is extremely rare.

You have a very narrow band of thinking brother. You need to open your mind.
Good analogy.

Im open to this stuff so it always interest me if something new comes up.

I can imagine if even the most brilliant ppl on earth wont be able to explain alien technology.

Many reasons why that might be, but it certainly appears as though intelligent life like ourselves is extremely rare.
calm down friend. just breathe.

the fermi paradox is if intelligent life exists, why havent we been contacted, or visited, or discovered evidence of their existence.

there are all kinds of rational explanations for all of them

i didnt realize you had access to all of humanity's collective evidence, you brain dead balloon animal

perhaps we DO have evidence, and YOU just havent seen it
