Tell congress to assume every bill is getting an automatic veto unless they come talk to the White House to see if something can be worked out. Remind the Republicans he didn't need them during the election and doesn't need them now either becasue he doesn't give a fuk and will happily work with any Democrat who might need a little side deal for their district in exchange for a future vote for the easily sold idea of border security. Make every speech about congress, praising and shaming as needed. It's basic art of the deal leadership stuff applied to government and it works.

Or, I guess, blast out daily autistic tweets reminding everyone who the big dog is and see if anyone calls your bluff.
This is assuming the Democrats in congress aren't petulant children who will literally deny anything Trump tries....except for open borders and anything socialist.

Supreme Court is stacked conservative so they abide by the law. Any anti-gun NEs would be turned down by Supreme Court because of the 2nd amendment. We've said this like 10 times in this thread but I realize this is the new NPC narrative and you probably just got it uploaded into your brain by Rachel Maddow.

Playing the partisan game is lazy and got him where he is. Brushing off half the people you need to work with as petulant children is a cop out.

I realize I won't convince Trumpers who will instinctively defend their retarded little brother that it didn't have to be this way.

Good luck trying to take people's guns. You can try and take them from our cold, dead hands. Lefties aren't going to get them willingly.

using that argument one could surmise that supreme court would be against the POTUS going around the congressional purse to get what he wants. it's crazy how yall think that the supreme court is going to side with the president because hes republican

to believe otherwise is believe that the supreme court will say, "to hell with how our forefathers configured the country"

Get the public on your side then and they'll pressure their representatives.

It takes work though. Rolling into the office at 10:30am for half a day isn't going to cut it.

For the last 30 years "bipartisan" means Republicans suck it up and push the Democrat agenda - NEVER the other way around. Finally we have a President who's done with that BS and thank god. Liberal policy is the destruction of America.

It doesn't have to be over gun control. They could declare a national emergency to fund socialized healthcare or free college or just to seize wealth from the rich. If you don't think there will be YUGE blowback from this, you're incredibly naive.

Why stop at gun control national emergency? Why not just overhaul the whole damn system with a national emergency and turn it into a totalitarian hell hole that the left wants?

Many of the arguments expose the desire for a partisan supreme court over a conservative court.

IMO a truly conservative court is the best thing we can hope for. If they get involved in politics we're fukked.

The executive branch has the authority to keep America safe from foreign invaders...thus the wall and the Supreme Court approving it.

Notice how everything liberals want goes against the constitution?

Important kissing peace to your little dream is the necessity for similar factual relevancy in order for the good law to stick.

-The wall being built (plus future immigration changes when Trump wins reelection) greatly limits the amount of third world socialist (Dem) voting barbarians.

-Conservatives have the Supreme Court for another 20 years which will stop all the socialist and bizarre nonsense NE's Dems want.

-Without the 3rd world barbarians voting Dem, and those currently here assimilating, the country will vote American (not socialist/leftist) and USA will get more centrist, thus eliminating idiots like AOC getting elected.

-With a more centrist government we won't have gun grabbing or climate change NEs

Conclusion: won't have to worry about Dems crazy NEs at all.

Agreed. That's why getting this NE is so important. Trump's the only Republican with enough balls to tackle open borders. If we fail now it's game over.

Except that the whole point of executive power is to protect the country from EXTERNAL threats. There's no Constitutional Amendment stopping the President from securing the border because that's his ****ing job.

Imagine thinking you are the best at making deals, becoming President and being so bad at making deals you have to declare a national emergency to get something you promised another country would pay for.

Trump said he might resort to this before he capitulated to Pelosi. His capitulation was likely to determine if dems would negotiate for a border wall at all. They've proven that they won't, so Trump basically "justified" the national emergency. But yes, it's basically the only way he can save face, and really the only way he can get the wall... because dems won't do anything to help it along otherwise.
