It's not "superhero movie #10,347 when it comes to marvel. All of the movies are interconnected so there is a compulsion to want to see them all.

People that watch them as stand alone movies just see them as "another" superhero movie.

His point stands though, the genre is completely played out and vanilla. Dead pool was the only one to do anything slightly original.

Super hero movies are the white guy version of the "Becky" white girl meme. The funny thing is that the actress and the people who make these movies vocally dislike white males.

Better character by far.

Danvers exists on the same tier as She-Hulk, Spider Woman, Moonstone and a host of others. They're just...there.

Bullsh!t. Even Venom made a billion. Comic films is a genre, so its not going to play itself out. People can watch thrillers, comedies, horror, romance, western, and so on if they want. 3-4 of these films every year isn't bad at all.

She-Hulk in the old comic was a good character. What they do with her now is just horrible.

Pretty much. Captain Marvel was never an interesting or popular character. The original is one of the few with the dishonorable distinction of being killed off permanently. Carol Danvers got her powers through sucking his dink or something and became Ms. Marvel, but as with the original no one gave a chit about her either. She was always a milquetoast character without a particularly distinguishable personality and a boring powerset of flight and a bit of super strength. Like mentioned above, a lot of people only know her because Rogue stole her powers for a long time.

The Marvel comics went full SJW a few years back though, and now Ms. Marvel became Captain Marvel with a full on Katy Perry dyke haircut because grrrl power.

Marvel has one of dem der good problems: they have so many characters that the best writers can't possibly get to them all...so inevitably lower tier characters suffer. Not only that, there's a legit argument that all those male writers over the years half-assed any attempt to write female characters because they were just biding their time until they could get a shot at writing for Avengers or X-Men or whatever the best selling book was at the time.

And if a haircut rustles you, you have way bigger issues than any comic book can offer.

Sounds like the only critics that are upset are the "muh feminism" critics. Which is positive because it sounds like they cut back on all the agenda garbage.

I bet its just above average like Black Panther or Antman and Wasp.

I am probably the only one, but I watch these movies for what they are. Superhero films. If I want a good story, I will watch a deeper film. These are cookie cutter popcorn blockbusters that have been put out for 10 years. Its action, with a few well timed quips. Ill be entertained regardless. I don't care who is the lead. Id prefer a Black Widow film, because I think ScarJo actually is believable when it comes to kicking ass, but it doesnt matter. With the Avengers movies, they seemingly have done a great job of including everyone, with no specific one being pushed heavily and I anticipate the same with this last one even with the introduction of Captain Marvel.

I hardly see this as agenda pushing, just as I didn't see Black Panther as such. From what I understand, these characters are heavy in the comics, so the focus in the films will be on them. At the end of the day, the superhero saves the world and shes going to in this film. ****, even if it IS pushing an agenda, maybe it will inspire some little girl to grow up confident of herself and not succumb to posting half naked pictures on instagram or playing videogames in a bikini for money on twitch.

Just because it may slant in the direction of pro women, does not mean it is anti men. Regardless of what the chick said in an interview or its hypocrisy. At the end of the day, it is a superhero movie who's title character is a female. I expect her to kick ass, I dont care how "unrealistic" it may seem because these characters are made up, fantasy. There is no baseline, half of them have been rewritten over the decades of the comics.

Reviews mean ****, the movie was always going to sell regardless. Its marvel. And a film whose character is going to be in the final Avengers film. People will see it. Ill see it, probably in theaters, but definitely on instant video if not. If it empowers women? Great, the films going to be entertaining and I am not going to feel like my masculinity is attacked just because the main character has long blonde hair. It worked for Chris Hemsworth.

Hell, I watch Supergirl solely because Melissa Benoist is a rocket launcher.

The problem with this "resting bitch face" actress is that they'll probably make her a member of Guardians of the Galaxy after Endgame, so she'll be a main character in all of those movies going forward.

This was bad casting. They should have cast someone feminine and likable like Jessica Biel.

I’m more concerned with whether it’s a good movie or not than what Brie’s opinions are. A movie is much more than 1 person, and her opinions don’t affect her performance. That said, so far the reviews are mediocre. Hopefully it’s just a background/context establishing movie that will make End Game more awesome.

That said, her comments alienated a lot of the marvel base, and weren’t well thought-out. Also James Gunn is a fantastic director, and I lost a lot of faith in the franchise when they did him wrong.
