Interesting. Never knew the disposals were for odor control. I never really like the thought of grinding the food becuase it sounds like a clogging nightmare.

yeah they've had the tap and pay in the US for ages, until it got rendered virtually useless by chip cards. There are still some non chip cards that have it, but it just doesn't save much time honestly. maybe it's worth it to you, but everyone i know has it and doesn't use it. As far as apps vs "tap and pay" why does it matter the method of the wireless payment, if the argument is about being current with the times?

RE cups of tea...like i said i have a spout that puts out boiling water on demand so if i need more, i just pour more. I live alone, so rarely do i need hot water for more than myself. even so, if i had company regularly, I would get a teapot which doubles as a kettle to boil water on the stove. You guys acting like these things simply don't exist in the US.

We keep hot water in a pot, and put the tea in cups so they aren't constantly mixed. you guys are literally arguing semantics. notice how nowhere in my previously quoted post did i mention a teapot. You brought it up first.

Where did I say using gas to cook at home was a ridiculous notion? I just said microwaving would save you the gas costs. So you voluntarily choose to forego electricity in mountain cabins when you could very well have them and make your life more easily? That seems pretty nonsensical to me.

Both are kettles, but you posted what looks like an old fashioned stove top kettle. I've not seen one of those since the 1980's. Everyone now uses electric kettles which are much faster than the old stove top kettles.

If you have enough space in your kitchen its fine, but otherwise you're losing valuable storage space. Im happy to keep mine (and the noise) in the laundry

Never seen a solution like that in Norway, guess it got it cons and pros, but personally I'd prefer to not clean and dry my clothes in the kitchen

At least Americans and Brits both have dryers which we never had. However, hygiene is good in Finland, since even every public toilet has a hand shower between the toilet and the sink.

But yeah, the blender in the sink was pretty weird to get used to when I moved here.

And yes, even poor people have straight teeth here in LA, everyone basically gets braces.
