Giving $1,000 to everyone for not doing anything to earn it is the dumbest idea ever.

Where does the money come from? You tax everyone that $1,000 back, then add in government overhead, and now the country is in even more debt.

The country would be better off mandating a curriculum on how to balance a household budget properly, invest, live below ones means, etc. Purchase less lotto tickets and booze, eat out less, don't upgrade your phone every 2 years, drop the cable tv, maximize 401K tax deductions, etc.

people on welfare wouldn't get the UBI

so it would be a tax cut on everybody who actually works and doesn't receive government welfare benefits

tell me are you against a tax cuts for working Americans?

He supposedly wants to take if from existing social programs and drastically cut military spending for starters. Also, if you're already on welfare of some kind you're not going to get an extra $1000 on top of that. So, if you already get $700 then you'd only get $300.

Srs thoughts on Yang: he's just a phase for the 4chan crowd (they'll halfheartedly go back to Trump after Yang loses), but they may propel him up to a few percent in the polls. He would be an absolute disaster if he got his way, but he won't so there's value in making such a mockery of the Democratic primary that a candidate makes it into 4th or 5th place based solely on memes. Imagine if he beat Elizabeth Warren's numbers lmao

I'd say refusing to defend your southern border to the point that 20 million illegal aliens live in your country who will all eventually be given citizenship and the right to vote by Democrats, thereby conquering the country without firing a single shot is a much dumber idea.

Racking up $20 trillion in debt by squandering trillions in Middle Easters wars and giving free chit to everyone is also pretty dumb.

And flooding over 1 million immigrants into your country every single year and replacing the majority demographic that built the country and are the only thing holding all of its institutions together is also quite dumb.

The country is dead. Just take your Yank Bucks and be happy. It really is the best possible option.

btw for those thinking Yang is a dirty commie, Milton Friedman was a supporter of UBI as it lets people shop for the services they need rather have the government deduce it through welfare - and Yang precisely frames UBI as a partial welfare replacement. Obviously, the universal aspect also meanseveryonegets it so it works like a flat tax cut even to people who don't "need" the handout. Meaning for most people the net loss for the median household from implementing UBI alone will be small, and can even be a net gain depending on the savings made to accommodate the policy.

I always lol when democrat candidates cite the payment method for their pie-in-the-sky idea as "we'll gut the military".

America does have enemies as well as frenemies that would drastically escalate their ambitions if the USA were to cut military spending.

Yes they leave medicare intact without regulating the excessive costs of the medical industry at all. If regulation is so powerful, you'd figure the 1+trillion of medicare costs would be an easy target for 250billion of revenue. Even then, a 1000/month per person, per year is 12k*350million, or 4.2 TRILLION. You'd have ELIMINATE medicare, military, and education spending THEN RAISE TAXES to pay that. Do people not realize this?

We'd be adding 4 trillion a yr to our debt and in a decade we wouldn't be able to keep up with the interest. We would go into a world war with countries that have bought trillions of dollars of bonds from us.

UBI is the single dumbest idea this generation has shat out of its collective anus.

So..... if there's about 300 million people in the US, it would mean ~ 3.6 trillion dollars for our government to pay for this per year? uhhh

Then there's inflation.... yey! a gallon of milk is on sale for 50$!!!!

Gee, putting people on "welfare", taking away guns and introducing the fantastic social credit system used by the Chinese sure sounds like a compelling mix.

I don't think so.

4chan is notoriously white nationalist and white identitarian.

Trump has literally said that he wants to bring in more (legal) immigrants than ever before. That's what's pissed them off, they thought he would be hardline on immigration, but he hasn't built the wall and now literally says that he wants (legal) immigrants in higher numbers than ever.

"“I need people coming in because we need people to run the factories and plants and companies that are moving back in,” he told a group of reporters from regional newspapers. “We need people.”

Trump’s remarks followed an unscripted comment in his State of the Union address Tuesday night in which he called for immigrants to enter the U.S. legally in “the largest numbers ever.”

https://eu.usatoday.com/story/news/p...-s/2792732002/

Trump was their last hope for a mainstream candidate, and now they've slowly realized that he is like every other liberal or conservative president ... A globalist. Now they are pissed.

There are some die hard Trumpers on 4chan trying to call everyone who has turned against Trump shills, but even people who aren't supporting Yang have become black pilled.

I predicted this would happen last year when I used to debate people on R/P, I said we are probably going to see the biggest black pilling (apathy) after people realize that their white nationalist fantasies are just fantasies.

No, it's not semantics... Politically Taiwan and China have strong conflicts.

Taiwan claims independence, China believes that Taiwan belongs to China.
Also, you don't have to be Chinese to be a Chinese agent.
Melania is a Chinese agent.

Jared Kushner is a Russian agent.

Taiwan(ROC) can claim anything it wants, it's not recognized by the world as being a sovereign government and hasn't been since 1971 when it lost its seat in the UN. Only 16 of the 193 UN countries have diplomatic ties with the ROC, as well as the Holy See. The world at large believes Taiwan belongs to China. In the end they are all Han Chinese (except the aboriginals), so yes, it is semantics.
Melania is a Chinese agent.
