Im at the stage again where my emotions go on a rollercoaster. I look in the mirror and tell myself I just need a few more days, next day I feel like I need another 2 weeks. My perception is fuking with me.
I swear every god damn diet and I feel like Im too small and look like ****. Thats what I get from cutting out so much carbs, flat as a pancake lol.

You brahs who cut carbs, I take my hat off to you - that’s hardcore! There’s no way I could cut carbs out of my diet and still be productive at work etc.

How deep you into the cut?

Only assess your physique at a certain time, e.g. in the morning or after training. Ignore everything else. Your condition changes during the day, the mind plays tricks on you, and the eyes get tired so to speak. If you have that much trouble cutting carbs, eat more carbs and less fat. The only advantage of cutting carbs is a temporally drier look, which is irrelevant as long as you‘re not in target condition. The drawback is being flat all the time.

i don't remember typing this earlier....

only jealous of the super carb sensitive guys when cutting cause they can fill back out just dropping fats and eating carbs for a day or 2 where others have to eat a bakeries worth of bread to fill back out

I give myself carb refeed days. Even when I go over to a keto style diet.
I give my self one day of carb up every few weeks if I need it.

Also as mentioned body composition changes throughout the day and from day to day.

I focus on the end result. I don't get all caught up in the 'I don't look like I lift.' I look so small'.

BUT when I get to my desired level of The Shredz I look pissening and others think I got bigger.

A carb refeed will fill out the muscles and then I look huge.

Story time:
After my third show I on Sunday morning, the day after the show, I ate potato chips and pretzels most of the day.
When I got up Monday morning I looked in the mirror and I was like.."WTF who is that!?" I had filled out so much I looked like a different person from show day.

I'm 6'4". Nothing crazy for summer just maintain the weight while I get my cardio back to where I want it to be. If I get any bigger I will start to lose my flexibility and athleticism and I don't want to do that. Function over form but having some form is still nice.

When that's said to me now I just reply; "Let's be real, I look better than most guys half my age."

It's our job to tell our age to show these young guys that you can stay fit in lean well into your golden years.

I'll be 48 in May and still hanging in strong.

Last time I weighed myself 4 days ago I was 191lbs. Today I weighed in at 187lbs. 4lbs lost already in less than a week. 27lbs to go until I'm down to 160lbs.

Was too busy to go and train yesterday. But, for sure will be hitting the gym today and crush back and biceps. Tomorrow I'm going to hit chest and triceps. Just going to the gym Monday-Saturday like it's my job and work hard, grind hard.

haven't seen you mention legs so make sure to not skip on those brah, no matter how much you hate hitting them just think of them as the day you burn the most calories and the potential for the most muscle mass to burn more at rest

if an older guy never told me that don't think i'd have ever taken them as srs as I do

Yeah I'm doing legs on fridays. But, just for today im training what I said i would be training in my previous post. My real schedule starts Monday. Cardio 3x a week and working each body part once a week.

I use to powerlift so I'm not exactly new to the lifting game.

Got a bit dizzy today in the gym, defenitely gonna get some carbs in before workout now.

Adi gillespie is still goal physique, although I know i will never have this good of a core since I hate training abs.
What would his bf in this pic be, 7-8%?

A positive and motivational thread in the misc! We live in a time where anything and everything is possible.

Lots of really impressive physiques in here. It's also nice seeing dudes older then me still in the game with results impressive for any age.

This is earlier today, post jury duty and gym!!

fuuuuuu...mirin the pics in this thread. practically everyone who has posted a pic is already aesthetic/10. Kind of crazy. Some of your guys' starting physiques are what I'd be 100% happy with at the end of my cut.

Had a solid day today. Did 45 minutes cardio outside, then went to the gym. Been doing GZCL Jacked & Tan 2.0. Even though I'm losing weight my strength seems to be increasing a bit.

A few weeks ago my top set of standing barbell OHP was 90 x 12. Today (4 pounds lighter) hit 100 x 12. I'm surprised but happy about it because OHP isn't a lift that particularly increases in a linear fashion even while in a surplus.

Deadlifts are getting back to speed too. Few weeks ago hit 230 x 12, this past DL workout hit 260 x 12. Weak as fuk compared to where I used to be (460 1rm @ 168) but it's honest work. Tomorrow I'm gonna DL again and will hopefully get 275 x 12.
