The OP itself wasn't a one-up; it was the e-statting that came after. On the internet, nobody knows if you are a horse. It's precisely because of this, saying "I'm 6'4, 225, 13%" really does not carry a lot of weight. It comes off as a sort of deflection, meant to distract from the fact that you're revealing things that make you uncomfortable.

Your OP was less helpful than I think you realize, and promotes a sort of insecurity--or at least reinforces insecurities and unhealthy mindsets about intimacy/closeness that people already have.

If you are well read, you know that humans are social creatures and that 99% of what we do outside of survival instinct is based on social affirmation... Meaning, we want to matter and be recognized. Whether or not you like it, we are social creatures, and thusly, the desire to form intimate bonds is natural and normal.
