Can confirm. California is a ****hole. Only reason I've stayed is the six figure income and I live and work in the suburbs. If I had to live in LA or SF I would have went on a murder spree already.

Said it before on here, the state itself is great. It is the self important sacks of **** that make it bad.

I have lived in CA for 12 years now. Was born and raised in the midwest.

I would never ever ever ever move back to the midwest for any amount of money. I live a little north of LA in a beautiful city called Valencia. Just a short drive to LA or Santa Barbara or Santa Monica, but we are surrounded by mountains so would never even know you are near LA. It is like a mini Denver with the Ocean 25 minutes away.

Beautiful sunny warm NO HUMIDITY weather. Tons to do every day and week. Tons to see.

Yes it is a little more expensive but you get paid more here too.

As far as where OP's bro lives? Apple Valley and Victorville? I drive through that area sometimes on my way from LA to Vegas, and would never live there. It is in the middle of no where, in a desert like area, with poor people and lots of hispanics around. Nothing like what much of the rest of CA is like. It is like living in the worst city in FL and saying all of FL is like that. It just isn't.

I drove down the 405 last week to golf at Torrey Pines near San Diego and the scenery is so beautiful and even though it was a Weds-Thursday, San Diego was hopping and full of great bars, restaurants, hotties etc.

Also they're not the same flimsy bags you're use to seeing in grocery stores they're tough reinforced bags that are much stronger than even a typical trash bag for a kitchen bin. They're too tough to tear with your bare hands. They're actually very nice.

If 10cents breaks the bank, then you probably wont be shopping for so many items that it requires a bag anyway.
