Super run down today.

I might have to rethink my approach no off days might be hurting me.

During winter I wasn't working much lifting 6 days a week with pretty much zero activity on Sundays.

But now every Monday I'm cutting 20 houses so my Monday push day is now Sunday. So while I don't lift on Monday I'm still cutting 20 houses.

Today I got up went to my HS son's meet and by the end of it I just wanted to sleep but I couldn't. Pushed myself to go to the gym and do something.

Box jumps 3x5 30"
Broad jumps 1x3
Leg press 3x8

I have nothing left. I laid down for 2 hrs (couldn't fall asleep) and drank a monster before the gym and still exhausted.

Which I do.

Wat the fuk? Do you even sense lel.

You cant track overload with random exercises, squats does not equal box jumps does not equal lunges does not equal RDL. In order to track solid overload youd need at least some constants in training.

Intensity is how hard you have to work to perform an exercise but this doesnt mean your max leg press is as intense as your max squat in terms of difficulty.

I do straight sets and record my weight. When I can complete 3 sets of a given exercise I increase weight 5lbs.

For example today 1 did 3x8 105 ohp. I have one more workout next Sunday at 105 then I'll jump to 110.

I recently moved up to 90s for incline db bench. 3x8
But I only do 8,8,6,4 right now.

Leo, a suggesting moving forward is not to “bulk” for your “busy season”. You claim you need a lot of calories for work which I’m sure is true. But clearly it’s unecesaary since you gain a bunch of weight that takes a lot of effort to lose. Keep eating the way you are now. It sounds like you use “busy season” as an excuse to eat a bunch of junk food.

Edit: also look into a weight vest for your walks. You’ll burn a ton more calories.

Leo, I'd suggest you increase your rep ranges. 5-8 reps is not where muscle is built.

I don't need to get bigger. I don't like the actual bodybuilder look.

Greg Plitt would be the absolute biggest.

My goal is this.

He is trying to drop weight so rep ranges doesn't matter. Also I mostly use low rep ranges and I have done fine.

I haven't had any progress in months.

I was pretty severely injured at work Aug 1st and I'm still not healed.

I'm about 90 percent back maybe 80. I've just started going back to the gym. I'll do 3 to 6 sets of a couple of compounds and try to do therapy after that. I'm working my way back to 6 sets 4 times a week. That's my first goal.
