Hope everyone is doing well and staying on track. I'll be heading to Florida for a short vacation (wedding) next week and know my diet will be somewhat impacted. Eating fairly well wont be to hard, but not over drinking will be a bit harder. I'll try to show some restraint.

This is today...

Hopefully the after pic isnt much different.

Let's do this!

I have been taking my time with this cut.

Last week my weight was stalling around 188-189lbs

I bought some chocolate cookies on Monday 'for the grandsons'.
Tuesday, 4/3, night resistance was futile and I decided to do a bit of an experiment.
I decided to eat the last nine cookies, to up my carbs. and see how my weight would be effected.

Here are the scale readings for the following days.

4/3 189.......the day the deed was done.
4/4 187.6
4/5 187.6
4/6 186.8
4/7 185.6
4/8 185.6

Cookie macros for 9 cookies;
C=112.5
P=4.5
F=40.5

i've done a lot of experimenting with cheat day macros and there's some wild **** i've learned here are some highlights

1) you eat high fat the weight is sticking, your hunger will damn near non existent for a day or so after and the more fat you eat on a cheat the lower your hunger will be the following couple days

2) the closer to 0 fat you get the worse hunger will be the following couple days, literally 0 weight will stick to the point it's honestly absurd. 1500g carbs <50g fat and it just disappears

3) 2-5:1 carb fat is the money i've found for filling out and overall just feeling better even though a decent chunk of weight will stick

4) high protein (400+) makes you feel like complete chit the next day

5) forgot one, fiber helps a ton in feeling better the day after but there's a cap on it. If you make it past about 80g of fiber you done fcked up

I usually eat higher protein and fat with moderate carbs. 100-150 for carbs.

As I get leaner nearing the end of the cut I lower the carbs and raise the fats. My macros run around this;
Carbs under 100
Protein around body weight
Fats 100 -120+

im high carb through and through but i've never stepped on stage so never had to be lean enough to worry about manipulating diet all that much. But as far as cheat days go i'd consider myself way more experienced than average haha

I know you mentioned before after your show you woke up looking like a different beast a couple days after, did you just stick to the classic high carb low fat the day before and then go back to eating fats after? I've wondered if a lot of guys wouldn't be a lot better off adding more fats in during their refeeds cause from my fat boy experience it makes you fill out wayyyyy more than just eating carbs

Took a 4 week diet break into a pretty solid surplus. Put on 3 lbs, lifts feeling solid AF. Don't know if it accomplished anything but eating 4000 cals for a few weeks was a nice change

Digging back into the cut to get to 170 for the summer. 174.5 current week avg

Fist off IMO I think most guys should not drop their fats so low, 30-40g per day, during prep.
I think this is why many complain about no/low libido.
Mine rarely go below 50g and most days fats are at 70-100g

After that show I ate my regular macros, maybe a bit less, plus I snacked on potato chips and fat free pretzels all day Sunday. Monday morning there was a shredded beast looking back at me from my mirror. I actually said; "WTF is that!"

I usually don't eat high carbs except on e refeed. I feel better and perform better with high fat, high protein and low/moderate carbs. When I do a keto style diet, usually 4-5 weeks out from a show I get shredded and the mind fog clears.

The last time I did this was last summer. A friend wanted us to get shredded together to support each other and to see who could acquire The Shredz first.

I started my high fat and protein with low carbs on a Sunday. Thursday morning we were training together and I went to the mens room. As I came out into the gym my brain just cleared like BOOM I was wide awake and full of energy. I felt great!

I think the best time to build muscle is right after a cut as a show prep. The body is primed to put on weight and hungry. Most guys go crazy and eat lots of pizza and beer and add 20+ pounds in a week or two...most of it is fluff! I do a slow increase in calories over a few weeks. I might have one day where I go crazy and eat whatever I fancy.

Arms are strong. Lats might need abit more width but could also be the way you pose.

Brahs runnning ECA stack anymore? Ran it when i was younger but now am bit older, maybe more cautious. Still going to use citrulline powder for amazing gym pumps + lots of fat preworkout 1-3h before gym, like couple spoons of coconut oil

Checking in this morning pretty flat and depleted with no sign of vascularity and fullness in sight...had a tough day yesterday @ a track meet and didn't get enough food but the food I did eat was a bunch of cliff bars...fat loss hasn't really stalled yet and I'm getting leaner day by day. Finally broke past the 186-5 plateau I had been sitting at. Fell off the horse this weekend but have decided again to be 100% not drinking, too many problems caused by it. So anyway back here on Monday and going to try to hit chest day hard to get out of this funk my head is in. Dunno how I look really because I haven't been looking at myself as much as normal but I have faith it's probably still coming along well.

Down to 185lbs now. I've lost 12lbs in 2.5 weeks and I'm happy with my progress. I'm eating clean and controlling my portions strictly. Going to get some cardio in today at the gym. Cant wait!

Aight I've finally hit about 15% body fat, abs starting to come in slightly. Probably have about 12-15 more pounds to lose. Will be cutting it close for summer but we shall see.

What you boyos think? Am I gonna make it?
