Yes its justified but it doesnt change a thing, she wont just go back to normal again lol they (the writers) wont sit her in the throne due to her actions. Everyone with a brain cell can tell they wrote her character that way this season. You'd have to be obtuse af to think she has a chance of being queen now.

^The hype for Cleganebowl is seriously misplaced IMO.

People have been talking about it for a few years. Years of hype for something that'll probably amount to 40 seconds of meh action. It's not like these dudes are Ninja Assasin or Li Mu Bai.

Of all expectations to subvert, that should be the easiest and most realistic one. Just LOL at them getting the chance for a 1v1 showdown in the middle of a war, just because the Hound wills it.

It's not because she's gonna go mad, it's because she's an impulsive'entitled little brat. She is a poor candidate for the iron throne. It should be Jon. I would honestly rather have the Night king win then have anybody else. That being said Jon is next level cuck boy now.

Jon would be a borderline puppet, srs. That or he could be usurped. Danaerys has seriously had the most prolific development arc so Idk why people still call her entitled. She went from meek little girl to conqueror.

I just read your sig. That explains a lot. Most rulers are puppets just enacting what their counsel advises or true masters dictate. That is unless they are a tyrant or dictator. The only reason she has gotten where she is was from being lucky. Lucky to have an army of Dothraki and dragons given to her. Lucky to get the unsullied on her side. She freed slaves which is awesome, but she doesn't work. Hopping on a dragon and playing red barron isn't admirable. She can't even begin to defend herself in a hand to hand situation. She can't make wise decisions for herself. She lacks experience. She has a short temper. She is irrational and fixated on power at the cost of everything and enything. There is nothing to her. No substance or hard work. She's determined, but why? Not because she even believes at this point that she would be best for the realm, but because by birthright it's supposed to be hers. A birthright she no longer has. I honestly think GOT would be better without any of the Targaryan story arc. No dragons.

I would say it's understandable, but not justified.

Other characters have gone through massive trauma (Jon Snow was literally murdered, members of his adoptive family have been murdered, and soldiers of winterfell died in battle, the commander and friends of the nightwatch were killed by other members of the night's watch, and one of his best friends were killed fighting the nightking.), and still he hasn't become genocidal.

They've been showing for some seasons that she had a bad temper and narcissism, that needs to be kept in check. Though overall she is a benevolent person.

Like IRL, when people experience trauma, their bad traits come to the surface.

She's suffered a lot of trauma recently, and so that's the pretext for her 'mad queen' tendencies to take center stage.

She doesn't have Jorah nor Misandrei to temper her, and she's Tyrion and Varys have lost faith in her too.

Brilliant arc, IMO.

Entitled because she believes it's her destiny to rule, she's believed that since Season 1.

She's been a benevolent person, but I think she has always walked with the sense that her ruling Westeros is a forgone conclusion, and everyone else just needs to accept it.

She's a "chosen one" character archetype who also given a hero's journey arc. She wasn't lucky to get the Unsullied, she traveled to Qarth to even offer to purchase them. Then she killed their old masters and asked if they'd fight for her as free men, which they agreed.

Then she was captured, threatened to be turned into a widow, and burned down Khal Moro and his crew to win the loyalty of the new Dothraki tribes. She's literally been through more than anyone in the show including Jon...lol.

Look I used to hate her in Season 3 too, but it's clear she's been through a lot and her character has grown.
