Apple desperately needs another Steve Jobs. A few more more years of this and their relevance will be next to nothing.

I remember when apple was about to go belly up in the late 90s/2000-ish and it was the best time ever, unfortunately the iPod saved them. Hoping that eventually apple will bit the dust and go out of business, fuk apple.

It's 2019 and Apple is still getting a pass on everything.

"Socialists" love Apple even though they are a massively profitable corporation.
"Environmentalists" love Apple even though cell phone towers contribute massively to CO2 as do the plants that produce Apple products.
"Globalists" love Apple even though their goods are produced in China by people making barely enough to survive.

Plus, they get a huge pass on logic and common sens given the products are marked up massively. And, their batteries become almost unusable after a year or so, by design, so you have to invest in the newest product.

B-b-b-u-u-u-t muh Iphone. Can't wait until people get the Apple Credit Card as well. Then Apple can have complete control over every portion of their lives. "Convenience" and 1% points in exchange for their autonomy and privacy.

You guys are morons, this is not a monitor aimed at people gaming in their parents basement. Of course you're not going to buy it, nor would you have any reason to. They sell it without a stand because most people will not use it sitting on a desk, or if they do they have existing versa mounts that it will go on, so the stand would get ditched anyway.

I do agree it should come standard with a versa mount adapter. I see now that is also an "accessory"

But seriously, go get your 1440p monitors at best buy and relax.

I agree the monitor is fine priced as is. Its competitors are 10s of thousands. So its actually cheap for its category.

That said, a monitor stand is a monitor stand. Unless its made of platinum its not worth 1,000.00. Even a 200 dollar monitor stand would have been overpriced for a piece of metal/plastic. As is, its just outrageous and another PR loss for apple who is perceived of being overpriced because there is no way a simple stand could cost anywhere near that much to produce.

60Hz? LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'll stick with a real PC and my new 240Hz gaming monitor, Apple *******s.

Lmao @ all the hate. They will be selling that **** with ease at that price. You guys must not be in professions that need this sort of technology is all. I'm not, and I def will not be buying, but I won't hate just to hate. I have my own hobbies I spend too much money on.

I drop stupid $$$ (to the average person) on amps and speakers for stereo listening. Some guys I know have speakers that cost $60k with $25k+ in audio equipment. I would never spend that sort of change, but $25-30k for some high end listening? Sign me up.

People who buy this monitor already have their own stand\monitor mounting arms. Any professional setup has the monitors removed from the desk to free up space.

Not offensive. They just did a ****ty job of explaining why.

It should have been: "$6000, and if you're a creative professional with their own monitor arms and mounting solutions, you can save $800 by getting the screen with a VESA mount instead".

Regardless of who this device is marketed to be it plebs or professionals....

Not shipping your monitor with a Vesa mount and stand... Just lmfao. Apple is literally shoveling their **** into their consumers mouths.

Proudly don't own a single apple product

I wonder how many people will finance this on a Starbucks income then complain they don't make enough money and require a higher minimum wage. Bonus points if they have lots of school debt

bar182 jelly that people like aesthetic apple products XD I use all windows product and Samsung s8 but apple is highly aesthetic and secure. The products are well made for productivity and aesthetics, and yes they are expensive because the market is showing they are willing to buy it. We are in a time when money is much easier to obtain. Now the next level of wealth is usually like Ferrari, lambo's, yachts. So you are at the low level currently cause you are spending time being upset about what other people are buying. You see when you get to atleast mid level tier you won't care about that at that point you are almost/close to leveling up so you are focused and driven hopefully to get that next level.

Only low tier waste time with arguging and debating politics, news. THere is a exception if you are doing it to make money and level up then it is fine to critic and waste time arguing because you are being paid for your time and improving your life
I just want to share the knowledge I have obtained throughout my life and hopefully change someone's life.

Apple crew checking in

Whoever decided to allow that announcement during the conference should befired

To those who didn't watch the conference, it was a solid 9.5/10 overall.

Great apple watch segment
Great iOS segment
11/10 ipad segment
10/10 security features being added
Great new iMac segment

so many cool new things announced. The appleid login with unique generate emails per account is KILLER

Apple's gonna Apple with the pricing but they should have said something like "due to the innovated tech we had to create for the stand, the stand will be sold separately and the price will be announced at a later date" to not take away from all the incredible things they announced. As this thread(as well as all mainstream media outlets) shows, now nobody cares about any of the other cool things like a new OS for ipads, system0wide dark mode, 10/10 security features added throughout apple products, etc etc. Now everybody is fixating on that stupid AF stand.

Shame on apple for allowing that.

This. If the monitor delivers then it will change the industry. Brb 6k for monitors that typically cost 40k+. LOL at idiots that are comparing this monitor against their 1440p 27in Acer and think they're in the same realm. Two completely different target audiences boyo

Displays? You'd be surprised. Yes they do. From my experience, the more expensive they get, the more prone to failure.
