How can people be against the death penalty but be for this?
Republicans are weak men who pretend to be strong
Democrats are strong men who pretend to be weak

I wouldn't.If we're using mental illness as a justification for terminating life, then I guess we should just solve the homeless problem in most cities this same way? Come on.
There are lots of people who have experienced insanely difficult things early in life and had wildly successful, positive stories. If we're using PTSD as criteria for being incurable, then what, half the people who ever see live combat are just doomed too?
At 17 there's legitimately a high percentage of people who consider suicide after breakups with their boyfriend. Not minimizing her situation. I'm just saying nobody at that age can accurately analyze or control their emotions.

Saying "oh she just needed some counseling" seems ignorant, we can't even conceive the psychological turmoil she was dealing with. And if someone in that position wants to end their suffering -- and medical professionals agree it's the best course of action -- then they should have that option.
This article does a far better job of explaining the full situation (translate to English):

y'all acting like you know what it's like to have been molested when you were 11 and 12 raped by two men when you were 14.
i can't speak for her. but i watched my mom pass away from cancer when I was 10 and that ****ed me harder mentally and psychologically than anything even to this day when i'm 26. my mind is permanently warped. so... what she went through is probably so much worse. it's not a one time deal. she probably has been waking up and sleeping thinking about being raped everyday since it happened. unable to focus on anything except being raped. can't focus at school. can't focus when someone talks to her. etc. she's permanently stuck in that moment. that was me when my mom passed away. i was a mute for 7-10+ years. my brother is still a mute at age 28. so her suffering was probably like 10x worse.
I guarantee she was perma-****ed mentally after what happened, because I definitely am.

This is where all the anti-life, pro-abortion culture ultimately heads. This girl needed some counseling and ends up getting the green light (even from her family) to kill herself.

The main point is that she at least had the potential to get better as opposed to someone with terminal cancer and I believe that potential should be protected as much as possible. There are tons of people who would have thrown in the towel if there was an available option yet go on to lead otherwise fulfilling and useful lives. Things may have never been the same for her but things do eventually get better if even in the slightest amount.

she was admitted to hospital severely underweight and her organs were failing.
in order to force feed her the doctors would need court order.

It is worth remembering that the Nazi genocide programme began with the euthanasia of an suffering infantat the parents' request.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerhard_Kretschmar
Later, of course, this led to euthanasia of severely disabled children and adultsagainsttheir parents' wishes, quite often while the host institution continued collecting the disability pension for the child or adult. Being as they were a totalitarian regime the Nazis were inherently corrupt and would pervert anything they touched. Nonetheless it shows where things can go, if they are not watched carefully.

2. This is an insane point to debate. Anyone who has ever lived near Los Angeles knows how big of role mental health plays in homelessness. They have shelters upon shelters here and people do not want to use them or their services because they are not mentally well. I don't even have the energy to debate this- mental illness and drug use are almost exclusively the two causes for sustained homelessness in 2019 in America.
3. I agree it's curable. But if PTSD is curable, why is it a justifiable reason for assisted suicide?

Its horrible what happened, but unless your terminally ill or suffering from a chronic illness and want to end life on your terms i cant see how its allowed. Mental illness as result of trauma i don't think is the same as being terminally ill with cancer or other horrible conditions as one is that of the brain while the other is actual, physical illness ie. you cant die of being mentally ill in itself but a brain tumour you can and euthanasia to reduce end of life suffering in this case is justified.
Call me ignorant but yeah I cant help but feel having the option makes it more appealing to the mentally ill who may have alternatively been sectioned for mental instability or given proper treatment.
