My wife hasn't stopped putting out but we've been together 15 years so sometimes I'd rather just jerk off. I do the same after she falls asleep or sometimes she's watching tv upstairs and I'm downstairs. She's never caught me in the act but one time I was feeling frisky and used some lotion and forgot to put it back, left it at the computer. I got a weird look that day. LOL.

exactly. she'll want attention but she'll also start to get fed up with your chit and become bitter, without realizing it herself because young girls are generally stupid af. and it'll lead to constant friction, as she starts to become someone you don't enjoy either.

The only plus side I experienced was a TON of sex. but it was generally lower quality bc I wasn't as into her

just decide on what you ACTUALLY want and then make it happen. thats it. ignore the rest and put in the work and one day you'll find your happy - vampirelol

This is how it always happens. One day they “forget a sweater” at your place, next their whole wardrobe has taken over your closet... tours over boyo.

But seriously, set your boundaries right now. If you don’t have any, think of some. Soon your apartment will become hers. Not “ours” but hers.

All in all I’d advise against it. This is all upside for her, she pays less rent, and your place is probably better than hers. Meanwhile you loose your sweet alone time, a gain a headache. Do you really want to be trapped with her during that time of the month? Smell her chits? Have her products in your bathroom?

Really think about this OP don’t be a leaf in the wind, this is your life

You've been together 15 years and you're still awkward about her knowing you jerk it?

Yeah I suppose. I'm not too worried about it but I don't just go and do it anytime in front of her.

I am by no means a prisoner in my own home just because I jerk it on my own time. I pretty much do what I want overall and she gets it. Hell there are dudes that don't see their friends after getting a woman. I do chit all the time with friends.

My girl lives with me but we sleep in separate rooms. I hate sharing the bed and let her know that sometimes I need to be alone and play WoW all night. She doesn't mind her own alone time with Real Housewives so it works out.

Can make or break your relationship, but at least you'll know.
This is why I decided that we should when she brought it up. We've been dating for 1.5ish years now and she already essentially lives here. It's one more step in the relationship and I figure we have to see if it will work out eventually.

See this is how I was thinking initially but at one point during rearranging things last night she mentioned that she never really liked one of the art pieces on the living room wall and for some reason it annoyed me way more than I thought it would. However I was already in a cranky mood because we literally tore the entire room apart and had to put it back to how it started.

Also as a general note out to several miscers comments - we're splitting rent once she moves in officially.

Relationships are about give and take. As long as you maintain communication you will be alright. Living together will show you how she truly is day by day, you get to know each other on a more personal level.

What I'm concerned and conflicted about is that last night I can't tell if my feelings last night were just normal move-in/big relationship step anxieties or the beginning of realizations about incompatibility...

Pro-tip: if she's in any way crazy, she's been hiding it by politely avoiding you on her "bad days".

You'll see what I mean once you've witnessed a complete menstrual cycle in the middle of seasonal depression.

If you plan on marrying her or are considering it then you absolutely should, make sure you're compatible living together for at least a year or more.

If you're not planning on eventually marrying her then you goofed

depends how attached you are to art in general, as well as that piece in particular. If you're always gonna want to be hanging up art that she dislikes, that'll be some conflict. If you have a special attachment to that piece she mentioned not liking, that's gonna bug you because to you it means something, to her it's trash.

Honestly, you'll only be able to figure it out over time and through experiences. Might as well get it over with and find out lol. Just don't set it up in such a way that you are trapped with her if things go south. Happened to me with the first one, had to live with my ex and my roommate for about 4 months very uncomfortably while she was bringing dudes back to the apartment unexpectedly. I'd be sitting there gaming and another dude would walk in with her...and there was nothing I could do without causing massive tension between us and our roommate, since she was on the lease.

2nd experience, I continued paying the rent solo and didn't put her name on anything, so when things went south I just helped her pack her chit and kicked her out.

Yeah that's the thing I'm not even that attached to this piece which was why I was surprised and sort of disturbed that it had such a visceral effect on my mood. I think I was just feeling ****ty after moving all of the furniture around all night.

That's also how I feel that if it isn't going to work out I would rather have that happen now than wait and move in with her months later and have the realization then. Only my name will be on the lease so legally it's all still mine, but she will be paying 1/2 rent once I get her some keys.

I think I'm just going to go this route, I don't really care all that much about the layout of the apartment as long as it doesn't interfere with things I'm doing or add much more overhead to cleaning/staying organized.

The golden rule: never move in with a girlfriend unless you are sure that you are going to marry her (ie: you are either engaged, or know that you will propose).

There is literally zero upside to letting just a "girlfriend" move in.
