well my point exactly. they've already butchered it to the ground, and it was NEVER that good in the writing aspect to begin with.

yeah there's no hope for it. ewan mcgregor is the only reason why the prequels were watchable. i say just give d&d a shot at it. i don't think they could **** it harder than it already has been ****ed

the latest trilogy is the worst butchering i have ever seen lmao

I'm surprised that HBO still has Confederacy onholdafter the D&D botch job. It should be clear by now that they're terrible to work with, or ratherfor, because they'd be damned to take anyone's advice on how to do a better job. Not only is the show conceptually awful, but if D&D's handling of slavery in GOT through the Mereen arc is anything to go by, they'd somehow manage to make it rushed with no necessary detail, yet still feel interminable.

As for Star Wars, on one hand, it's a strange job for D&D since they apparently love writing cock jokes, which is obviously verboten for a Disney production. On the other, Disney Star Wars is at best operating on the level of a slow child's form of entertainment, so Goldman Sackos might be perfect. After all,"themes are for eight-grade book reports,"which just so happens to be well above the new Star Wars target age group.

He's a pretty major character and I actually liked how he died in Dany's arms after all they had been through.

That whole Battle of Winterfell should have been reworked to actually make tactical sense. I think Brienne, Tormund and Grey Worm should've died immediately when the fighting started. That would've been a serious holy chit moment
Definitely a consistent theme of D&D being utter kunt control freaks who bullied the production into being a sh*tshow whenever and wherever possible.

I also can't disagree on killing Jorah off during the charge would have been a bad end for the character - certainlyshocking, adding gravitas to the whole "End of the Dothraki," but that clearly wasn'treallythe case after they all respawned, so it would have been an evenbiggerfukk-you to everyone and Jorah especially.

Which really ties into your second latter point, which is that while the lack of stakes definitely hurt the episode, the underlying problem is that evenifa bunch of characters were killed off, it would have been in vain because of how stupid everything surrounding the battle was, effectively making everyone die from a clusterfukk of idiocy.

Dumb as the planning was for defending Winterfell, ifthey were going to stick with seriously just standing in front of a tidal wave of wights (something that they should have already prepared for since both Jon and Tormund saw that at Hardhome), anyone on the frontlines with a nametag should have been in that funeral pyre the next episode.

I outgrew the franchise, but I watched the JJ Abrams one just out of curiosity, and Mauler's rage video for TLJ.

Not very good would be praise for how laughably bad they are, and I have no idea how they can wrap it up in only one film to make anything remotely resembling an "arc" since there never was one from the start.

Although we have all watched at least a bit of the new Star Wars movies without even knowing it:

And those assh*les have the gall to nominate the season 8 finale for an Emmy.

D&D: "But look howreadythey are!"
Spoiler!

The fact thatSambloody lived is an insult to every single other person who actually died during that battle.

The best move they could make is retconning 7 and calling it alternative canon, starting over as you said.

So naturally they're going to continue going full retard making increasingly soulless, vapid productions to sell toys and capitalize upon the reliability of dumbass fanatics who will hand over money no matter what like they have brand Stockholm's syndrome.

I don't even like Disney, but at this point it would simply be refreshing to see anything justnewcome out of them, let alone Hollywood in general.

So here's a little more from the Sapochnik interview. Skip to 7:50 if you want the condensed version

Cliffs
- He shot 20 minutes worth of footage of all the main character in The Long Night that was cut. Apparently, this footage would show their beginning, middle and end of what they did during the battle

- He wanted a pack of Direwolves and regular wolves to fight the dead dragon

- The Night King was going to have a fight scene

- Bran was suppose to be warging into animals to help fight

- Hodor was gonna return as a WW

- The cast of GoT will appear at a comic con in July. Not sure what it'll be about

- etc

With the exception of alot of comic book stuff. Some characters reached ridiculous proportions of power in the comics.

So basically D&D didn't want to follow his intentions to kill lots of characters because they wanted their chitty finale montage.

Which went against all the kneelers advice and their "iF yOu ThInK tHiS hAs A hApPy EnDiNg...." SHADDDUP!

holy **** that would have been epic

and about the NK fighting scene, in that vid they said that the NK is played by the stunt man that did the fight scene as Arthur Dayne dual wielding the swords in the previous season. So the fight scene would have been absolutely insane. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

WOW the directors wanted people to actually die in the battle and D&D just saved everyone's life. WTF was the point in that battle? The Long Night is a 100% pointless episode.

D&D wanted to save all the character deaths and cool chit for the episode they were writing and directing and it near totally killed their entire series in the process. Also they didn't do chit with all the buildup in their own episode with the exception of the Clegane Bowl.

I said this on another page and I'll say it again. As cool as it would be to see the NK fight, it wouldn't make sense.

Think about it, the Night King can...

1.) Raise the dead
2.) See through Bran's warging powers and touch him
3.) Crack the earth by putting his hand on the ground
4.) Kill a dragon with a single throw of a javelin. Keep in mind the scorpions couldn't even kill with one shot
5.) He could fall hundreds of feet to the ground and be unharmed
6.) Dragon fire can't kill him
7.) He has the power to bring winter with him

There's no way in hell any human being would be able to beat him in a sword fight given all that. So in a way it makes sense that he didn't fight in S8, but it also makes it worse that fuking Arya killed him. He had his hand on her throat, a slight squeeze and her head would have exploded. My version of this would be the NK killing Jon and many others, but Jon comes back again as Azor Ahai and then we get an epic dual between the two. They would be more evenly matched assuming Azor Ahai has super powers as well

i don't think it was unrealistic for arya to have killed him. tolkien had eowyn kill the witch king. who was like the most powerful of the ring wraiths and who gandalf couldn't even go against. though gandalf would have probably won

Except it was well done and had some meaning when Tolkien did it. What GOT did was purely because it was unexpected.

it wasn't really well done lol though i love the LOTR and eowyn, it wasn't really an "epic" ending to the witch king. and tolkien did overpower eowyn as well, she sliced the head off of the witch king's fellbeast in a single stroke. this is her first real battle ever and she sliced the goddamn dragon's head off lol with a single stroke.

peter jackson actually had it way better in the movie. than the books. if it was 1:1 with the books the witch king would have died in like 1 minute

Eowyn was an underdog character whereas Arya was OP and already had major moves under her belt. I cant remember how it went down with Eowyn in the books but in the movie the tag team between underdog characters Merry and Eowyn was really well done.

With Arya they literally only had her kill the NK because everyone expected and wanted to see Jon Snow do it They wanted to keep that reputation of GOT being unpredictable no matter the cost apparently.

I dont think it was terrible but they really should have given the Night King a fight with Jon Snow and then ended the show after the battle of winterfell.

women in general tend to take the suspense out of action scenes because as guys our brain never really processes seriously female badassery in it's physicality, Brienne was prob the only one that was i could buy because the actress is an actual ogre.

I couldn't help but LMAO at every Arya scene post Bravos.

Damn can only imagine the outrage from the anti SJW crew if that came out in 2019. Also that neck is thick as fuk, even if it was made out of watermelon.

Bruh you do know there's magic in this show right? You remember the prophacy about Azor Ahai? Jon had Stark and Targaryen blood in him and the prophecies pointed to him having power due to the combination of these two ancient bloodlines. Also...Dany, did you not remember her standing in a massive blazing fire and being totally fine? What about Bran, who basically became a demigod whose powers were supposed to rival that of the night king? I don't think these were just normal humans.

What if Bran could infuse Jon's sword with some powerful 3 Eyed Raven enchantments that were further catalyzed by Jon's blood/lineage. Why couldn't that be a respectable challenge to the night king?

It's pretty unrealistic in my opinion for the reasons mentioned. I understand she's a super assassin but the Night King is far from normal. Let's also remember Arya had zero ties to the Night King and that whole story line. The episode prior she was asking Gendry for a description of them. She didn't deserve to kill him

When I said "human being" I meant normal humans like Arya, Tormund, Brienne, Jorah, Theon, etc. Characters that didn't have special abilities. That being said, I doubt Dany would've been able to do anything against the NK. Her only abnormal ability is she can't be burned. She can't fight or anything, and we already saw her biggest dragon couldn't kill the Night King. As far as Bran goes, we already saw that the NK can see through it abilities. Outside of him warging into animals to attack the NK I don't see what else he could do to actual pose a significant threat.

Jon obviously makes the most sense to defeat the NK. They teased us with it for half the series. Jon becoming Azor Ahai and beating the NK is what everyone was waiting for

it was a disappointing end to the night king for sure. theon should have been able to fight him, but they just threw theon into the flames.

There is only one Hell: the one we live in now.
