That has value for illegal purchases and tax evasion. What percentage of the population have any interest in participating in either practice?

What do you think happens when enough people are using crypto for those purposes that's it actually hurting the federal governments bottom line? You don't see where this ends badly if the benefit is just anonymity?

Blockchain may or may not have a tech purpose. That is totally separate from whether a specific coin is a valid investment vehicle.

When people say bitcoin has no value isn't it's value that you can use it to buy any drug you want and have to delivered to your door hassle free?

LOL you have to like tumble ur coins and chit apparently and do steps to make them untraceable? and Coinbase reports to govt for tax purposes and whatnot? and delivering drugs through the mail is still a felony its not like all our drug agency efforts just magically disappear? and not everyone's a fking crackhead?

idk that's just a start

Nobody cares about this stuff brah and it’s only brought up when the whole idea of crypto is scrutinized

The only thing that matters here is making more USD $$$ and having more USD $$$ to keep in and spend from a centralized bank

A huge population. Just look at Venezuela. In regards to your claims to anonymity, that is simply not true. Every transaction is recorded on the blockchain. Every exchange requires KYC to convert bitcoins to cash.

The federal government's bottom line is to preserve the status quo by printing money and ensuring that the USA controls the monopoly on oil. What is the USD backed by? Do you know? Does anyone know?? At least we can be sure that bitcoin has a fixed supply and is backed by computing power (proof of work). This is why bitcoin is sound money.

Sheeeit

Institutional players are already going in on this. Fidelity and other monster players will make btc available as an allocation in 401ks

Sure you.dont have to believe in it. But you're ridiculous if you don't invest.

This coming from a guy that has quite a bit of other investments. But they are long term shts. Fck waiting to have big wealth until I'm old. Between the previous bull market and this next one, Im probably going to retire within the next 10 years.

You sound like the internet nay sayers . "Oh this internet thing... I'm just not sure about it"

You'll be a late investor but you will eventually. Probably when it's a multi trillion dollar dinosaur of market. Which is fine. We all have our risk tolerance

And yes the market will eventually live high into the trillions

Those are sweet numbers on a screen bro

What is that, 80k? current $ valuation?

i can show you many multiples of that in actual holdings in real life companies that i have right now, along with my house, and i just turned 27. but i wont, just realize that your monopoly money and karma points mean nothing to those with an IQ above potato

and either you have no idea what a congested coincel market means for BTC or you just like to non answer/cope with the pain of me being correct. congested network = high fees = takes forever

they're not even anonymous any more. your accounts get suspended if they determine you're using your coins illicitly at some places. super anonymous bro

but gl i hope you buy and sell at the right times while these billionaires run their massive pump and dumps on it, you might get lucky. but i can promise you one thing, they (billionaires) are having a fuking field day with this nice unregulated retard market hahahahah. some people are making tons with this whole crypto thing (they are)

i'm sure that was all due to recent crypto gambling too, huh?

i've raised several very valid main, HUGE issues with crypto/btc namely too and you haven't addressed or tried to even cope with one of them. they're gamekillers for your monopoly game

edit; and if crypto is so golden i find it funny you're building houses and own multiple houses as an investment. intredast, roi would be so much higher then 'boomer real estate', wouldntcha say chap?

No, I've been very clear I've been in the crypto game for quite a while. But my portfolio was only at $250k a month and a half ago. Now we're over 500k.

No I was independently wealthy before crypto, which is why I had the funds to get into it in the first place. But continue, lets see your assets sir.

There you go. so stop acting like your crypto orgasms gave you 'multiple houses and an apartment complex'. you could be very successful, good for you, i dont know your life or career nor do i care, this is about how retarded the crypto gamble is. again, gamble, sometimes it pays off. I turned $10k into $44k (so ~$34k profit) in just like a month a little while back when everything was real nuts. and my friend convinced my to at least dabble. but i realize it was pure luck and i havent touched it since

"bitcoin is a ponzi, just people buying it with the hopes of selling it for more to the next guy". Except that alone doesn't make something a ponzi scheme, EVERYONE buys stocks, gold, whatever investment with the hopes of selling it for more. I didn't buy Pepsi stock with the hopes of selling it for less that's for sure.

"Bitcoin has no value" Except it can securely transfer value digitally without having to go through a 3rd party or anyone being able to stop it. That = value. It's limited supply that will never go higher than 21 million coins vs USD that is constantly has more being printed with Quantitative Easing essentially guarantees over time the USD value of bitcoin will always rise higher and higher over time which also gives value. Also the network effect and belief in it by many people gives value.

Just amusing that no coiners who have watched it go from $1 to $10 to $100 to $1,000 to $10,000 just keep assuming its a scam, and haven't tried to question their own convictions about it.

I never said crypto did any of that, can you point to any post where I say that or insinuated that at all? I've turned probably 45k or so into 625k in crypto. That's about the gist of what I've put in and I've pulled that out long ago. Please show us where it was "real nuts" a "little while back" and you 3x'd your money, or show proof of it. Or proof of anything else you've claimed...

Crypto allowed me to take $125k of "house money" and invest it into a 12plex w/ a buddy. So yeah crypto has given me that.

cool. so if you went to vegas and scored well in roulette, pretty common, off a big few bets or whatever, would you be so involved in promoting roulette to us all here too?

like i said, my returns - percent wise in such a short amount of time - were remarkable. and i still havent touched it since.

- market congestion as prices go up which of course you all want. will become serious issue if it gets where you all claim its going

- hardly any anonymity now. coinbase themselves dig like 10 transactions deep and suspend accounts now for using them illegally or with wrongthink. u dont think the government has highly advanced automated methods to do that already? esp with all the black market usage? lol just lol

- billionaire are taking advantage of everyone left and right because it's 1000% unregulated. legal pump and dumps. trust me, they're loving this. that i promise you

you can speculate on investments and invest in speculations. You really don't believe Bitcoins and Crypto are infested with pure speculators?
The only value Crypto has right now, is people saying "yeeee it's gonna go up".

Pepsi has an business, in which, a valuation can be put on it.
