Tool is my favorite band and I’ve been listening to this song all day. Fukking love it. People are just mad that it’s not heavy like Opiate or Undertow. 3/4 members are in their 50s now....

It’s a chill mash of Lateralus/10,000 days/APC

I honestly really like it and it does have a new sound imo while still sounding like Tool

I think you're confused with my statement. Delay is an effect (echo, essentially), used very often by Justin and used very blatantly for the first half of the song.

As I have played bass for some 16 years, if I were to try and deliberately sound like Tool in the most generic and obvious way I could, I'd use a delay pedal as a start.

I am not knocking on Tool, they are my favorite band.

fuk. for me it's "okay" but had potential to be really good.

- I liked the moody atmospheric cello intro that switched to bass guitar (with chorus and delay of course lol)

- Around the 6 minute mark, they go back to the Tool formula that makes fans finger themselves (unique, offtempo drumming with completely separate but complimentary bass and guitar riffs)

- The verse vocals, riffs, and drumming before the 6 minute mark are good as well. I think what killed it for me is that "exhale... expel" chorus. it sounds lazy and boring rather than "chill". Tool built an entire fan base off crescendos and epic sounding choruses "DO! WHAT IT TAKES TO STEP THROUGH!" / "I DONT WANT IT. I JUST NEED IT. TO BREATHE, TO FEEL, TO KNOW I'M ALIVE!" / "ALL THIS PAIN IS AN ILLUSION!"

exhaaaaaaale... exxxxxxxpelllllll... nah das not it. 6 minutes to the end is solid though

Still garbage youtube quality, but through a better speaker.

All tool albums are in top 50 on amazon, and fear incolum is #1, just lol.
