Yeah and then you have the mainstream media and all the liberal cucks fukkin crucifying them before all the facts are even available. It's a tough damn spot the media and people of this country have put our LEO's in.

This. I used to want to be a cop, took the NYPD exam back in 2007. But social media started ramping up, the new cool thing was to bring back the "fuk da police", etc. I dropped that idea real quick. You've got to weigh having a possible deadly confrontation with a perp and hesitating therefor losing your life, with using your firearm and then being scrutinized to no end by Monday morning quarterbacks, racists, and low life scum. Including internal investigators who weren't present and/or have never been in a similar situation in their lives. If found unjustified, you're toast. If found justified, you're crucified. Hell, they even changed the classification of tasers and bean bags from "Non/Less Than Lethal Weapons" to "Less Lethal" weapons because they can still kill in certain instances. And guess what's happening to you when it does?

And all that doesn't even take into account that 99.9% of cops don't want to take another person's life. That's the last thing they want to do is go on living the rest of their lives with that on their mind. It's ruined many cops lives even when it was justified.

Having to deal with all that, while the "respect" you get is getting buckets of water dumped on your head or having mass crowds form screaming at you while making a legitimate arrest? Yea, no thanks. I'm good.

You make it sound like it's a common occurrence for cops to be found 'unjustified'. The bar is pretty much as low as it can be, really not sure what you are talking about.

But then when it is ruled a good shoot they are ostracized and the media has a field day claiming they got away with murder. As was said above, either it's called a bad shoot amd their career/freedom is over, or a good shoot and they get socially crucified.

Panic? Restraint because of the media coverage?
I wondered the same. I suppose he might have figured he would be able to overtake the guy considering he already had 8 bullets in him and was being tased.
Your schtick sucks and it screams insecurity.

Probably - this is becoming more and more common. The 'victim' mentality that is poisoning and pervading our society manifests in many different ways - including this one, and one thing these different situations have in common is a fundamental failure for the person(s) involved to take responsibility for their lives.

IMHO the guy should have been put down faster - ideally before he ever reached the partner. I do get the reluctance to shoot but what is happening (part of what I said above) now is a deliberate attempt to castrate LEOs.

You must be one of those idiots that thinks a cop shoot shoot the weapon out of a perp's hand before shooting the perp.
