Philosophy is mostly bs except where done properly in math and physics, so I'd say guys like Von Neumann and Bertrand Russell.

Didn't your father save your life not too long ago?

Better start praying to your real father, boyo.

He might get you out of the basement.

Ask Krauss, I think he's an incel too.

You all can masturbate together with your tears while doing linear algebra.

The fact that you think linear algebra is some sort of impressive high level math speaks volumes about your profound incompetence. Granted, there are unsolved questions in linear algebra, but they are usually more appropriately treated using tools from other fields.

When did I say it was impressive, Einstein?

You seem to imply both a knowledge of relativity and linear algebra are sophisticated concepts.

Have you ever taken courses in these topics? Each is very old. You still haven't answered my question about how you reconcile free will, the power of prayer, and a responsive god to your prayers with relativity of simultaneity.

Have I taken courses in these subjects?

I took a physics class in high school once. Slept through half of it, because it was so boring. In high school I was more worried about playing basketball, partying with my homies, and chilling with girls. Still managed to get a B in the class somehow, but I'm a little rusty on the subject - its been over 15 years since I've read anything about physics.

When I applied for college my pops told me and my brothers to stay away from incel subjects like chemistry and physics (ironic, because he has a degree in physics from Hopkins). He pushed us all to get law degrees. My undergrad is in economics, and a have IT certifications in networking and cyber security. To fulfill my science credits in college I took biology and some other chit that I found interesting.

Incel subjects are just boring, bro. Don't know what to tell you. Anyone can do them if they have the tolerance for it.

The problem with you is you try to denigrate everyone, when you are at the bottom of the totem poll of life. That is why you are where you are. You are hanging on by a thread. Your first comment in this thread was "Philosophy is bullshyt, you're dumb. I know physics and math".

I don't even need to keep going at you. I already won. This forum and WoW are your life. I don't need this forum. You do.

So go ahead, tell me how smart you are. I just don't understand where all the ego comes from when you legit can't even talk to girls or make friends......or hold a job.

Weird.

See. The thing is if you actually cared about economics, you'd appreciate the incel subject of math. Most economists need to study a lot of applied mathematics, and also get a very strong background in analysis and convex optimization. But you never took the graduate classes so you don't know that. Go ask any professional economist (from a real program) what math they took, and you will see they need a lot of math. One of my good friends in math class was an economics phd student. Another was a statistician.

You're ignorant, and you have no respect for fields of knowledge. When I tell you philosophy is bs, I'm not trying to be a dick. It really is bs. When done properly, it lies in realms of math or science. Other aspects of philosophy have no right answer. It's fine to try to form your own ethical framework, but there is nothing objective about it, and no debate can be had over its veracity. Hence, on a very tangible level, all of philosophy that isn't directly related to math or science is basically bs.

If you don't believe me, I encourage you to watch a lecture by Derrida and tell me if it makes any sense. I'm not too dumb to see his point. His points and arguments are childish and obvious. There is nothing great about what he said, and he would choose horribly convoluted ways of conveying what he said.

It bothers you that I refuse to play your game. I don't care where I rank on your totem pole. I care about the truth, and I care about policies that jeopardize my existence.

You've answered your own question. He's undeniably a clever guy and that's his trump card.

It's very similar to how beautiful women put all their self-worth/ego in how they look, because that's their stand-out asset.

And this honestly is not a dig at wincel. It's just my take on him.

Yea, like I said, my pops has a degree in physics. He told me physics is useless and you can't make any money with it. Same with math. Learning math beyond a certain point is useless. Graduate degrees are also......useless.

The thing with you is you're not that smart. You've just been isolated your whole life. You don't know what it feels like to have friends, go to parties....fuk, you don't even know what it feels like to kiss a girl.

I wouldn't trade any of those experiences with sitting in front of math textbooks. And at the end of the day, where has all that knowledge gotten you. Nowhere. Your quality of life is zero. You don't even want to live.

That's fine bro, but philosophy really is mostly bs. I'm not saying it's ALL bs. There is value in developing a personal philosophy of ethics to inform law and morality, for example. It's just something that can never be shown true or false. That means it carries with it some degree of bs.

Again, you seem to not really care about economics at all. The theorems used to develop the models you studied require math. If physics is useless, I will ask you what is required to develop new technologies? What was responsible for US dominance globally? What drives all innovation and technological progress? Physics.

I don't. It's just entertainment to me. It's a means to an end.

I went to school to increase my ability to make money, not to play with myself.

An understanding of math as applied to finance can help you make money. Look at James Simons and the Medallion fund. He only hires math, physics, and cs guys. And that's the most successful hedge fund in history. How do you price a call option? Math.

You act like everything you don't understand is worthless.

Brah, just give it up; you're fighting the dude on his home turf. You wouldn't take on Kobe Bryant on the basketball court, would you?

You may have Wincel trumped in every other area of life, but arguing on an internet forum is playing into his hands. He's actually worked his magic quite well and you're now coming off as quite a douche.

I would say that; Philosophy of Ethics, Political philosophy, and the Philosophy of Art have a profound affect upon humanity (whether it's done formally and informally), and affects human life as much as technology does.

Epistemology gave birth to the Philosophy of science as we know and use it today, but I personally see Epistemology as an incredibly pedantic and semantic field. (I agree with Tim Ferris, who said that when he looked into it, it has basically become people debating the definition of words).
