You are attempting to argue semantics. Just replace my words with...I do not consider the footage/stories in this thread to be evidence (in the sense of evidence I would consider acceptable). The idea of "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence" is pretty well stated in this example from RationalWiki's page on the topic:

If, however, Alice tells Bob that she flew on a unicorn to a fairy kingdom where she participated in an ambrosia-eating contest, and she produces a professionally-printed contest certificate and a friend who would testify to the events described, Bob would still not be inclined to believe her without strong evidence for the existence of flying unicorns, fairies and ambrosia-eating contests.
Imo extraordinary evidence could be associated with clear, repeatable lines of evidence coming from widely different areas (example: there is extraordinary evidence that the earth is >10,000 years old- we have lines of evidence coming from various different fields such as paleontology, the physics of radioactivity, astronomy, astrophysics, archaeology, planetary science, thermodynamics, and more that the earth is not less than 10,000 years old. There is extraordinary evidence that the city of Paris, France exists: among other things, you can literally go there and stay a few nights in a hotel in Paris)

Real. WE OUTCHEAAAAAAAAAA!

Srsly though, how do you explain the Nimitz vids? Moving exactly how Bob Lazar said they do.

his name is Fravor btw, everyone keeps calling him Favor ITT, but none of this means anything: how well composed, or even high ranking a military guy is etc. That's one reason I find this thread to be amusing- people think that...."oooh a military guy is saying things === truth!". No, doesn't work like that. On one hand, things aren't true or not based on who is presenting the statement. In this case, even in this one interview alone, it is pretty apparent the guy has an interest in UFOs (going on about UFO sightings underwater in the 90s, talking about faking UFO sightings for people on the ground, etc....these kinds of things are red flags for me). If you look into the actual history of these Pentagon UFO videos, their promotion from UFO groups like To the Stars, it is pretty clear what is happening here. There are different stories given by different people involved in Nimitz incident, and just so many odd questions associated with it, that it certainly doesn't comprise bona fide evidence lol. The infrared footage btw, isnotthe same thing as the story Fravor gives, as you imply in your post...it was taken laer on. I stand by my very first statement in this thread: not convinced.

There are so many possibilities and bland explanations: people say "well radar captured the object traveling at mach 3 because it picked up an object X distance away after Y seconds!"... well, could have just been picking up a different object, lol. If these readings were even accurate and happened in the first place. No impossible movements need to have been seen that day.

You are entitled to that opinion. Excluding *extraordinary evidence* what is acceptable evidence?

Could be? Either it's extraordinary evidence or it's not. Even by your own definition you're proving extraordinary evidence is wholely subjective.

This triggered the fury of our resident InternetRationalSkepticTMwho dumped 3000 words over 24 hrs doing what he can to kill this discussion

I had to screen-shot the multiquote I attempted, youve pumped out so much skeptical hot fire in the last 24hrs that it maxes bbcode's character limit.

But to recap:

- You aligned yourself with Carl Sagan and his works multiple times
- You quoted his 'extraordinary claims extraordinary evidence' Sagan standard 20+ times
- You have invoked Occam's Razor a dozen times as well.

Nobody can say you haven't put in the work.

You have absolutely done what you can to kill this useless discussion, and have firmly made your point.

The nice part now is you, an Enlightened Intellectual, can leave this thread firm in the knowledge you don't suffer fools who want to have a conversation without Extraordinary Evidence backing them up like the OP was attempting. The rest of us mouth breathers who don't care about your minimum evidentiary standards required for enlightened discussion can continue on.

heres the truth, dont ask how i know this

the army been experimenting with new tech, they dont want anyone else to know about this so it kept secret even from the top navy guys. they want people to assume it might be alien tech because if china/russian thinks that its possible that the US does in fact have some kinda high end tech they would be stupid to ever attack them since it can come back and bite them

so keeping it a secret but having guys like (the guy on the podcast) and bob lazar shill it as aliens is actually very good for national security , this lets the enemy be on its toes its nothing but a war game strategy ,

so in other words they wanted this to be leaked

Doesnt explain why there is no evidence of propulsion though. No variation or plume heat signature on IR, no smoke or visible exhaust on video. Something like this would be tech based on physics beyond what laypeople currently understand. Or are you saying its some elaborate psyop and they just cleverly edited and planted videos?

I have a couple of moderate viewpoints on the matter:

If the Great filter is the timesink of evolution, then that doesn't mean other intelligent life hasn't evolved yet. Our RF pollution has only been broadcasted for the last 80years thus hasn't traveled farther than 80 light years away from us. Everyone could still very well be blind to each other and likely would be. An alien race would 100% require FTL communication or travel to interact with us at this point. Personally I see this as the case. If something has visited us, it would be above beyond detection methods.

Also, the proportion of dumb commanders present is probably a lot lower than the rate of dumb people at Walmart. They're also familiar with the subject matter. I'd consider what they say at least.

yes exactly that ,

heres a fun fact

bob lazar was hired to work on the most secret base on earth

but right before he was hired he was all over the news papers as the guy who loved media attention for building his jet powered bike or car or whatever it was,

does this sound like a person they want to hire (who loves exposure like that) and in his own words he doesnt know why they hired him
but in reality they knew this guy is an attention whore and a perfect guy to run to the media when they show him some bull**** face alien ship , his alien theory will make the russians 2nd guess the USA if they do or do not have some alien tech and that any attacks against them can be a big mistake

this is what CIA does they work in some next level smart tactics to protect the nation

Carl Sagan was a cuck.

Witness testimonies are enough to earn someone a death sentence, so the fact that a group of high ranking naval officers with their eye witness accounts and radar logs have come out and gone on record with this speaks volumes.

Also - are you people aware that the 'tictac' UFO showed signs of psychic ability? It showed up at the CAP point 60 miles away long before the jets met there.

Edit: For the record I do not have Exceptional Evidence that this is in fact a Carl Sagan quote.

Aircraft moving with this type of agility just doesn't fit with our current understanding of propulsion. I haven't even seen hypothetical ones that might explain it. This is all a major leap in different physical sciences from what we see publicly. I just cant see any way of developing this level of technology to this degree without some evidence or spinoff in the public sector.

Couple of important points.

0. Multiple signs of evidence, multiple angles, multiple readings, multiple experts, multiple identical sightings

1. Video shows no exhaust

2. Video shows speeds far in excess of anything possible

3. Video shows impossible maneuvers

4. US government, with its expertise and resources, acknowledges they know of NO logical way to debunk the video.

5. No heat, no inertia, essentially reaction-less

6. Active Radio-jamming

7. They clearly show signs of intelligence.

8. Any country with tech even approaching this would dominate the planet & economy, ankles held, no lube

The intelligence is clearly not human at all, so it is definitely extraterrestrial.

Unless you want to say they're from the fuuutuuure, or some kind of hidden civilization.

I'm wagering on a hidden race of dolphins with thumbs, operating from below the mantle.

This is the extraordinary evidence that Sagan spoke of, unless you won't rest till you see

Lol @ all the people in here arguing with numbers guy. He is clearly a pedantic contrarian, with an opinion as poverty as his chit tier physique.

An alien saucer could come down in his front yard, abduct his mom and probe her angus, and he'd by arguing with her that they had a shared hallucination from natural gas, or radon or some chit.

Why y'all really wasting your time after hes written 20 posts across 2 pages and 10k words, srs.

Because they are fun to poke at and its more fun when they get frustrated and rage quit. You think this guy pumps out walls of text go spend some time in R&P, people are wearing out keyboards in there.

Its more than likely not alien. If its not some top secret psy-op project utilizing holograms and radar spoofing (almost like Mystero from Spiderman far from home), than I would say its probably a next-gen propulsion tech being developed by the government and companies like Raytheon, Northrop Grumman and Lockheed martin and they all look different because there are different companies designing them using similar tech.

An even bigger stretch would be that these craft are from the very far future and bending time and space to get here. Or they are from the very far past from an ancient high tech civilization that stored them away before being wiped out by a extinction level event and were rediscovered by modern humans and now we are messing with the tech and trying to reverse engineer it.

I responded lol, you just are unable to read for whatever reason.

Hilarious how triggered these people are because someone doesn't agree with them and belieeeeeeeeeve. Sorry, I couldn't care less lol. My stance hasn't changed, this is simply not good evidence for such an extradorinary claim. I can assure you I'm not alone in my stance on this subject....I mean just look into this with like a 10 second google search if you really want to. I'm getting repped by various people who agree with the reasoning put forth in my posts....so I guess other agree on here as well.

It's the misc of course....if you put up a detailed, reasoned post comprising of more than 1 paragraph, it's looked down on with disdain (almost like some are unable to read)....you need a mindless 1-liner to get through to these sorts I guess.

To all the skeptics who say "why would they come all this way" - have you ever stopped to think they may be on a conservation mission, and maybe they don't particularly want us to interact with them in much the same way animal conservationists want the bare minimum interaction with wild animals in their environment?

Go watch the interviews with the top nuclear airbase commanders (yes they exist) that had UFO's disarm nukes back in the 80's.

These beings might be here to protect zoo earth.

so keeping it a secret but having guys like (the guy on the podcast) and bob lazar shill it as aliens is actually very good for national security , this lets the enemy be on its toes its nothing but a war game strategy ,

so in other words they wanted this to be leaked
This makes zero sense, why would he US want it's adversaries thinking aliens had this tech and not them?

I've only read the first couple pages of this thread, but based on your posts, it's clear you haven't actually watched the podcast. You're basing your argument on other sources you've read/heard about Cmdr. Fravor's experience.

It's also obvious you seem to think you're the smartest guy in the room and you always have to try and prove it. No offense, but I'm guessing you don't have many friends. Perhaps you should talk to someone about this.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

So much this.

I mean, his line about Fravor being "into UFO's" says it all.

HE HAD A CLOSE ENCOUNTER so of course he's interested in UFO's!!!!

This numbersguy idiot is one of those militant science copers who's fragile belief system must be protected at any cost. His posts reek of desperation. How many words has he typed in this 'nonsense' thread? I mean, who does that? How about you just ignore it and move on if you have all the answers? But no, here he is desperately trying to curb opinion despite the facts being backed up by MULTIPLE high ranking navy officers (and equipment).

And his constant knob-stroking of Carl Sagan is appalling.

Lol at this trigger. I mean when there is no response whatsoever, just post this eh? Ad hominem attacks? Sorry bro, no I'm not on that UFO/Ancient Aliens time like the mailman Busta above me, I realize this triggers you so much

If you actually take a few seconds to read my posts, you'll notice I reference various parts within the interview. The only thing you are essentially saying in this post- that "it is clear I didn't watch the podcast"- turns out to be......incorrect.

Hilarious howtriggered these people are because someone doesn't agree with them and belieeeeeeeeeve.

A post can't go by without more Rational hot fire coming out of you, who's triggered here?

To be completely fair to you, I have read your posts. The problem most people are having with you personally, outside the douchey internet pseudointellectual edgelord tone that most self proclaimed rational skeptics seem to have, is that you aren't proposing any explanation or adding to the discussion.

You are just chitting on anything with CANT BE THAT E X T R A O R D A N A I R Y E V I D E N C E OCCAMS RAZOR !!!1!!1!

In your own words:
It's always the same 3 vague blurry videos, which include things thatcan easily possibly just be terrestrial phenomena. A brief google search for rational skeptic takes on these 3 videos shows you all you need to know.
Occam's Razor:

-It's terrestrial phenomena in the videos
a vague video that can be explained otherwise, is not extraordinary evidence in itself.
The govt said it was Unexplained Aerial Phenomena. Anything can be unexplained aerial phenomena, including birds or balloons in the sky.
As for the video itself, it's amazing what even simple optical tricks such as zooming can do, and give appearances of rapid acceleration etc.At most you have an unidentified object, which could be anything lol.
f you go back and read my post, it does indeed seem that a terrestrial explanation (and there are countless) would be a simpler hypothesis
Except no, lol. There are all kinds of bland explanations. The rapid accelerations, as noted, can be artifacts of optical zooms etc. You simply have a case of an unknown object, whatever it is.
There areall kinds of things picked up by military radar all the time.
Whatever the case, the default position should probably be aliens aren't traversing astronomical distances to play games in our skies (and of course not in general, but just for a few grainy, vague videos).
if you are talking about the video, no nothing here necessarily defies the laws of physics, for example. Even in the extreme case, and there was evidence of some object doing things never seen before, you still have the option that this is just even higher, undisclosed military tech (this is not necessarily my take on it, but for the sake of argument)
Seeing as you have more than half the posts here and it is basically your thread, please speculate.

- without some chickensh*t 'I wont waste my enlightened intelligence on you conspiracy theorists' copout
- without quoting Sagan
- without invoking Occam's Razor
- no copy-pasting from rationalwiki.org
- without attacking people

give us your opinion on the rational logical terrestrial explanation (you referred to multiple times above) for what we are seeing on these 3 videos.
