He was crazy in the movie yes. But not crazy smart.
Yup that's true indeed, I heard they're going to do a sequel, so I'm hyped to see how they're going to transform him in the ultimate bad guy.

Most "critics" are radical lefties, they hate Joker and think it's "problematic". Only trust IMDB user scores, Joker is already in the top 10 of best movies of all time at IMDB...and it deserves that spot.

Would rather watch Reqiuem for a Dream if I want to feel "bad" after watching a movie.

Idgaf about movies though, they are a waste of time and the theaters are a waste of money..I went just because my GF wanted to see it, and she actually liked it. I havent seen a movie that I liked in a long time.
Good movies that come to mind are Gladiator,Good Will Hunting, or Shawshank.

Would literally rather take a walk outside than watch a movie. srs.
Joker is pure art *******. Learn to appreciate it.

Ledger’s joker was an anti-hero, not a villain. Ledger killed way more gangsters in the film than Batman ever did, as revenge for the mobsters disfiguring his wife. In that movie the joker was not constrained by any code against killing so was a much more effective crime fighter than Batman. Brilliant twist on the material.

He offers a number of explanations as to how his face got disfigured, the clearest of which is that gangsters tortured his wife and he cut his own face to make her feel better

If you're referring to the Joker in The Dark Knight, the scars were from when his father cut him after he asked him why so serious? (iirc)

It made the experience constantly “exciting” and “surprising,” but portraying Arthur/Joker also proved to be “messy and uncomfortable” for the 44-year-old Jewish actor.
Is there something wrong with what he said?

Great movie, in my opinion the sequel should pick up right where this movie ended, a chaotic society of clowns versus everyone else. It should start off with the clowns breaking Joker out of the hospital.
Bodybuilding is a lifetime journey, anytime spent not bulking or cutting is a waste of time.

So he embraces the 'Joker' side of things and...yeah. It was a very powerful scene and I'm certain he didn't kill her.

Yes he has a different story every time. No one knows how he got his scars and all are unlikely as the other. He doesn't kill mobsters are revenge, he kills mobsters for fun, for entertainment. And his game ends up being extra fun when the second player (Batman) plays along.

I thought Joker was great too. The daydreaming part really made me nervous though cos I feel like I do that a lot. Need to stop tbh. You guys shouldn't take it as canon DC though, just enjoy it as it's own standalone movie.

Didn't like it 4/10 for me.

It felt very self-indulgent, constantly asked to sympathize with Arthur, you can see the twist coming, and this Joker had like no charisma. At least, TDK's Joker was funny and had a dark sense of humor to him not to mention capable. Whether JP pulled off an awesome performance or not, this Joker was a bumbling idiot. No fuking way this guy goes toe to toe with Batman at any point in the future. Also, they never walk that fine line of whether you can side with the Joker or not. I don't want to spoil anything and I'm sorry to anyone if I have already, but the Joker in this film never kills anyone that doesn't have it coming in one way or another (except like 1-2 people, but you're not even sure if he did kill those 2).

This film had a lot of potential, but I think they squandered it. It' pretty much just Taxi Driver: Joker Edition, but not as good. Props for them for shooting scenes in my hometown of The Bronx tho.

I watched the movie today...

I thought it was incredible!

Was tough to watch though, because I when I went through really dark period in my life I could really identify with the character (and still do to a certain extent. I'll likely never be a 'normie', and I've had to put in a massive amount of work over 15 years to get to where I am today in terms of mental health, and I'm still not mentally healthy).

Like I've seen other say, the movie is very similar to Taxi Driver, but it seems to explore social themes more... e.g. How we treat the mentally ill in society, funding for mental health treatment for the poor, populism, income inequality, etc.

His back story seems to be purposefully ambiguous in The Dark Knight.

I don't see why you think he was an anti-hero, he killed people who were criminals, and killed people who weren't...

E.g. The police station bombing and the schizophrenic guy that he literally put a bomb inside of, He kills maggie's character, he literally commits act of terrorism by blowing up a hospital in order to get people to kill someone who wants to expose batman, and tries to get people to commit mass murder on the boats - he didn't care if the criminal or civilians got killed.

He was indiscriminate in his killing.

I don't know how you've watched the above, and concluded that is the behaviour of an anti-hero. The Punisher is an anti-hero... Ledger's Joker was a just a criminal high sensation seeking psychopath.

He had no principles, he makes that clear in the film, he just wants to cause chaos.

Great movie, best I’ve seen in a long time. Joaquin deserves an Oscar, but it’ll probably go to Greta Thornberry

After he gets off his meds, he turns into Joker and then.........

I perceived that what I just mentioned was the whole point.
