absolutely brutal, remember talking about this several times and how absolutely scammed you sounded.
Srs hope it's not true even though OP is a bit of a pretentious douche, I'd hate to see anyone scammed for 80 some thousand. Makes my blood boil to think someone got away with it, can't imagine how OP feels.

IMO it’s not actually completely idiotic to make an investment like this. It was idiotic for op, sure, because he doesn’t have much money or real world smarts. They saw him coming.
But if you had enough money to buy a dozen units at that sort of price, and not blink, you could afford much better due diligence and be calling the shots. The ‘developer’ would also know you had the resources to pursue him to the ends of the earth if there were any hiccups.. It would be more of a calculated gamble rather than op’s Hail Mary.
The lesson for all of us is: be humble. We’re all one bad trade from humility.

So $1,500+ for sitting on your butt all day is loads of money.
but change that to Nicaragua and you're probably the .1% in local income. I remember being in Mexico and laughing at the cheap bread, fruit and other grocery prices.
The idea of living in the western countries is a bit of a scam. The westerners kind of shot themselves into the foot due to high minimum wage and high taxes on personal / corporate. When Toronto gets their new $15 minimum wage a Big Mac Meal will probably got $27 after taxes.

Most of my local friends are engineers and they make an average of 18,000 pesos per month ($900ish usd). They live pretty well on that salary. If you are making $1500 usd a month, you are living very well here.
If you make $1500 living in a more obscure and less expensive place like Nicaragua, you're balling on $1500 a month and can easily afford a luxury apartment and support a family.
