Finasteride truth

https://ishrs.org/2019/05/27/finaste...etic-alopecia/

Using the ASEX survey, sexual dysfunction reports in a population of 762 men were not significantly associated with finasteride use. Between the control group and finasteride-experienced patients, there was no difference in loss of libido, reduced sexual performance or the number of men with an ASEX score indicating sexual dysfunction.

In contrast, results showed that increased age and selfreporting a decrease in libido or sexual performance were indicators for predicting a higher ASEX score. Therefore, the use of finasteride is not believed to be the cause of sexual dysfunction in AGA patients.

The association of sexual dysfunction and AGA patients might be explained through another aspect of the disease. Sexual dysfunction has previously been linked to both depression and a negative body image such as the possible impact of hair loss, especially in young men. In a recent study, an increased risk of sexual dysfunction was observed in men 18-40 years of age with moderate to severe AGA and psychosocial impairment accredited to body image changes due to hair loss.

tl;dr:
there's no correlation between finasteride use and conditions such as sexual dysfunction or loss of libido

I'm seeing all kinds of new regrowth at 2 months in. Can't wait to wake up tomorrow and see my new progress compared to waking up dreading more hair loss and being 1 day closer to being bald.
Currently on biotin and b12 vitamins as well, hoping to give the new hair a boost.

This whole debate is retarded and created by people who have no understanding of hormones.

You're LITERALLY arguing that a chemical that is used as a performance enhancing drug doesn't reduce male functionality to eliminate from the body. If this pill cut your test levels by 70% everyone would be freaking out. DHT is actually more critical for many purposes.

Hard to get into too much of this because of forum rules, but it's insanity to think there won't be consequence to eliminating DHT.

Watch this video as well.

If you think from the beginning that fin is gonna cause side effects, that will be in your mind even if nothing's wrong with you.

Mostly at the front. A little at the temples but nothing major. They say most regrowth is at the crown but i never had much hair loss there yet. So can't really comment on it much.

Male hormones have both androgenic and anabolic functions. Testosterone is much more anabolic than DHT. You're not going to notice a huge reduction in muscle mass from lower DHT, so you can still look jacked.

However, DHT is MUCH more androgenic than Testosterone. Androgenic activity is responsible for things like aggression, sex drive, hair growth, bone density, and energy levels.

Just because you can still get it up and look like you life doesn't mean everything is fine, unless you like increasing your estrogen levels and reducing the functions of male hormones in your body.

The best thing to do is not worry about it. If you take that first pill thinking it's all going to go wrong, then you're not helping yourself.

This is why I take it with an AI.
How dare you!

Alright, but can you link me some medical literature or evidence suggesting that the degree to which finasteride affects DHT has any effect on the things you mentioned?

Because certain subjects are off limits here, I'm sort of limited to where I can link. I hope even what I've posted so far is mod-friendly since its just functional info about a drug that I know is allowed to be discussed.

Here is what you really need to look at- there is a LOT of researchable info for what positives increasing your DHT accomplishes. If you know those things, it's pretty easy to surmise what reducing it would do.

Here is another thing to consider- Spironolactone is an anti-androgen drug just like Fin, except more effective. It's actually used for male to female sex change therapy.

Just not worth it man.

I have been taking Finasteride for at least ten years. I have noticed a lower sex drive, but frankly I think that is seriously just age. I mean I used to have a really quick recovery time and smash two or three times. I mean I could get ridiculous.

Now it is pretty much just once without an hour or two recovery time.

I do not think Finasteride caused any issues for me.

Honestly it's great. I feel like i have control of my life again. Every day i woke up depressed. Thinking my life was on a deadline.
That i would be completely bald within 2 years because my hair loss was at an exponential rate. Thinking i wouldn't get a girlfriend anymore.
I'm 31 right now, but i legit look 20. But if i go bald, i'll look 40. It was messing with my self esteem like you wouldn't believe.

Now i wake up with zero hair loss stress. I look in the mirror and even though the most regrowth results occur in 3-6 months. At just 2 months in, i can already see the front thickening up with a lot of baby hairs. I used to be able to see my scalp through it, it thinned that much. Now it's all dark again.
Can't wait to see how much more will grow. After this, all i need is to save up for a hair transplant for the temples if i want to really go all out and i'll be solid again. But if i comb my hair with bangs, you can't notice my hair loss. It just sucks if the wind blows hard, so a HT is definitely on my wishlist as it also lets you style it better.

No sides, nothing. Still wake up with bonrars. Still fap 3-4 times a day sometimes. Of course i can't say this will stay like this forever, but i'm not worried.
So far so good and if i ever did notice bad sides, i'll just hop off. It's like 1 in 10000 who experience permanent sides after quitting. Yet its 100% guaranteed you go bald if you suffer from hair loss and don't do anything about it. I like my chances.

And everyone gets a little spooked in the first 2 weeks. But then you realize everything is fine and it's really just the loud minority online who keeps talking about the sides. Once you know you're good, everything becomes normal again.

1mg/a day at the same time a day. I set my alarm for it. And if you notice a dull sensation, like a minor ache for a few seconds. It's normal. It goes away after the first week.
I experienced it maybe a few times for a couple seconds, but that was all.

Why the hell should anyone listen to the medical field? They can't even make up their mind on whether or not red meat actually promotes cardiovascular issues. They change their mind on everything every 3-4 years.
