The cops already had their mind up, once these guys stopped, they were getting lit up. Why wait till they’re smack dab in the middle of ****ing traffic when they had ample time and opportunity to take them out before?
So the cops can see into the future now? Nice

In no situation is cops suppose to bum rush someone who has a hostage, and kill the hostage! Do you have common sense what sense does it make to bum rush and shoot everyone including the hostage?
Yep, very telling when there were no officers trying to clear pedestrians.. instead they were hiding behind their cars while they were still inside their cars.

Anything police related always rustles everyone jimmies.

Also but like STFU, there is literally NO defending it. A Spanish news broadcast actually zoomed in when the shooting stared and you clearly see the cop that puts two on his back based on the angle of where the bullet hits. This is after the main suspect was already going down.

Anyone with an IQ over 0 can view the video and see how reckless the officers were. It was a free for all and anyone with a gun started just blasting in the general direction of the UPS truck. The situation started because of the "punks" but the resolution was a cluster fuk of unprofessionalism and stupidity. It could have been handled infinitely better and if you think otherwise, you're fuking retarded.

It is a tracking situation. In fact, that’s how many pursuits play out, and there are protocols for it. Especially when there is a no pursuit policy in place.

A high speed chase is dangerous for cops, civilians, hostages ... everyone. It is infinitely more safe to allow the suspects to escape and track them via helicopter (which happens all the time)

Once the suspects take shelter, cops can move in and secure the area.

These guys were not trying to cause mass casualties, and they were not indiscriminately shooting at civilians. If that was their goal then why didn’t they just kill the UPS driver?

lmfao, pretty clear you're neck deep in the thin blue line cult so you will be defending these morons no matter what

I'm usually the one to give cops a break in shooting situations but this was the most inept dangerous chit I think I've ever seen from police. Absolutely zero excuse for how that ended, no matter how much cope you throw at us.

Unless policy has changed since ive been out tracking was reserved for duis and stolen vehicles, not hostage situations. And even if tracking was an option the cops would still move in when the truck became stuck in traffic

and you're even more retarded for trying to compare that scenario to this.

every situation that police are involved in is dynamic, anything can happen.

based on the video, to me, it appears like they wanted to surround the car. yes the vehicle was stopped, mind you not in the perfect location, but it was stopped. are we supposed to let them continue driving and potentially put the lives of more people in danger or act now as the opportunity presented itself?

so they surround the car and issue commands, then they get shot at so they return fire and unfortunately 4 ppl are dead. and the police are at fault?

gotcha.

In one breath you say everything police are involved in is dynamic and anything can happen. In the next you say the vehicle was stopped so it was necessary to surround the car regardless of the location or surroundings.

If you truly believed your first statement you would actually take the position that conventional wisdom or tactics should not have applied in this particular situation and they should have been more dynamic in their approach and in this case that approach should NOT have been to surround the vehicle when there were far too many innocents in harms way for the full fledged shoot-out that ensued.

That is quite intentionally vague. Were you securing the scene? Were you actively being engaged? Were the suspects already down when you arrived?

nah you tried to change what I said by inserting "force theminto secluded area" when I was laying out multiple dynamic possibilities a competent police force would've been prepared to act on if opportunity arose for it, typical bad faith argumentative tactic from someone in full cope mode

Imagine defending police stacking up 80 cars deep in crowded surface street traffic directly behind criminals in a stolen van w/ hostage who have already demonstrated willingness to fire on police, then instantly bum rush the truck as soon as it was stuck surrounded by dozens and dozens of civilians trapped in their cars, then open firing en mass w/ rifles and absolute chaotic reckless abandon, even using said trapped civilians as shields for incoming fire. I'd rather necc

No it isnt vague you simply dont like it. We were shot at during the pursuit, when it terminated the suspects vehicle was on one side and I was on the other and there were too many officers between myself and shooters and by the time i got up there it was over in a matter of seconds

I'll just add that if military personnel used civilians as cover like that there would be hell to pay for it and that's in a hellish warzone, these chucklefuk police pulled that stunt in the middle of south florida and due to thin blue line phgts always protecting their own no matter what, no one will be held accountable in the slightest for this.

So not one ounce of blame is on the shooters to you? Just the cops? Neat
