Hey Relentless, you're the CZ/DW guy.
If you had one shot to grab any DW model, what would you look at? Considering the Valor Commander in 9mm or the Specialist Government in 45. Not sure if the 9's are built as tight as the 45s or not.
In CA it's a fkkin nightmare to find these, so it's not a "buy one now and one later" situation.
Leaning maybe 9mm since CA roster does have some nice standard 1911s on the approved roster for down the road?

Honestly I'd be happy with a Specialist brah. Full size, accessory rail, and of course - hand built by DW. It's a winner all around.

Buddy of mine asked me to shoot this.https://www.shootingillustrated.com/...ur-ccw-skills/
The split times are short, and distance is 7 yd on a FBI-QIT-97. Inner skinny bottle = 5 points, outer bottle = 2, miss = 0. The skinny bottle is a relatively small (width-wise) vertically oriented bottle target.
Interestingly, if you don't make a single par time, you flat out fail.
Stage 1:
x2: 1 round, from concealment. 3.3 seconds cumulative for both runs (i.e., average of 1.65 seconds per)
Stage 2:
x2: 2 rounds, from low ready. 2.7 seconds cumulative for both runs (i.e., average 1.35 seconds per)
Stage 3:
x1: 6 rounds, from low ready. 3 seconds cumulative.
Stage 4:
x2: 1 round, top off, 1 round. 6.5 seconds cumulative (average 3.25 s each). Note, mags are fully loaded so no slide lock, you're just topping off the pistol.
Stage 5:
x2: 2 targets separated by 3 yd each. 1 round on each target, from low ready. Cumulative 3.3 seconds (average 1.65 each).
Stage 6:
x2: 3 targets separated by 3 yd each. Start facing away from target, and turn at the buzzer. 1 rd on each target, from concealment. Cumulative 7 seconds (average 3.5 each).
Stage 7:
x2: Round in chamber, empty magazine. Start low ready, 1 round standing, kneel and reload, 1 round kneeling. Cumulative 8 seconds (average 4 each).
All in all, it doesn't sound difficult until you look at the par times. I don't have these po po targets so I'll use an IDPA target, see how it goes. It's only 30 rounds, but much better for *training* than just plinking or whatever.

I'll bet like 98% of carriers would fail that with their actual concealed carry setup.
And that's being generous
I haven't been shooting, but I'd like to try it anyway (would not pass)...don't have access to any ranges that would allow that stuff though. Can't be facing 180* from target line while moving and drawing or putting up 3 different targets to shoot in transition...just indoor ranges with typical rules around here
I also feel like it's missing a key component...drawing and shooting strong hand only should be a stage.
Edit again: No way it's as high as 2% passing that shot legitimately and timed accuracy with an actual conceal carry daily setup.

Video of cops shooting up a busy highway, killing the hostage and an innocent bystander this week
Unsurprisingly, this is in FL
Nothing like sitting in your car only to have a cop with a long gun post up on your a pillar using you as cover while they kill a hostage and another innocent driver on the other side

Craziest video I've seen yet to come out of this mess. My mind is obliterated how cops handled this, complete lack of regard for the many innocent civilians around. This is a disgrace.

Everything depends upon execution; having just a vision is no solution.

I'm planning to shoot it either tomorrow or Sunday from appendix with the P01...see which stages give me trouble and which are easy. I have IPSC silhouettes, which have wider but shorter A zones so may be easier, but either way should be diagnostic. Main issue will be shot cadence...those strings are very fast.
I shoot 'the test' consistently (10 in b8 black, <10 s, 10 yd) but this is going to be a whole different ballgame.
