A luxury spa massage is a service, but I have no just claim to use it, I can only use it if I pay for it.
Legal counsel is a service, but I do have a just claim to it, whether I can pay for it or not, or whether I have ever paid a single dime in tax or not, and this will be mandated and enforced by the legal system.
This is the same definition of right which you so kindly provided for us on the previous page:
So if someone has a just claim (ie. they are not considered to be doing something immoral, or illegal in the process) to use a service such as legal defense, then that is a right,as per your own definition.
It's obvious that you are not an intelligent person, but if you can't even stay consistent with your own argument for just one or two pages, then you really have no business being here.

inmates in custody/incarcerated usually receive "free" medical care. the custodian (county or state law officers, etc.) is responsible for payment of medical charges.

Where does OP get the notion we don't fund public education. It's most of the budget out here in CA. And celebs would just send there kids to good public schools which are all over the place. The notion that getting rid of private schools would force them to rethink things is just dumb. And the issue isn't money, it's the bad parenting and lazy teaching.

But... that's how it already works! You can go to charity funded care, and get in line until they can serve you.
So... you are asking for what you already have? You don't even know what it is you have and what it is you are asking. And which part of that makes you not dumb?
Take the L like you do in every thread and just move on, we are getting nowhere with you.

Nobody is legally entitled to charity care or any normal private business, if a charity turns you down you go home and that's the end of it. People are legally entitled to legal representation, they can't get turned away or denied representation altogether. Even if one particular lawyer doesn't want to do it, the court will appoint someone else, and the defendant can even claim their right was violated if below a certain quality of representation (see: Strickland v Washington).
So again, by your own definition ofhaving a just claim to something,it is a right. If you wanted to present some other definition of right, then you should have done that, rather than changing the goalposts midway then backtracking your whole argument and hoping everyone else's IQ and memory is as poor as yours and therefore would not notice.

Whoever knowingly provides or obtains the labor or services of a person--
(1) by threats of serious harm to, or physical restraint against, that person or another person;
(2) by means of any scheme, plan, or pattern intended to cause the person to believe that, if the person did not perform such labor or services, that person or another person would suffer serious harm or physical restraint; or
(3) by means of the abuse or threatened abuse of law or the legal process,
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.
Q: So how does the government get public defenders?
A: there are 2 ways. Lawyers hired by public defender's office, a government-funded agency that provides legal representation to indigent defendants, and external lawyers who have agreed to represent indigent defendants, with appointment being either on a contractual basis, through which the lawyer accepts an agreed number of cases from the court for the term of the contract, or a case-by-case basis. These people arehirednotforced
Q: But what if they can't get enough lawyers to agree to be public defenders?
A: welcome to today's world, where the scarcity of public defenders is a very well known problem. If it was as easy as forcing people to do the job we wouldn't be having this problem, would we now?
Q: So what if there's nobody available to represent me?
A: there are 2 possibilities:
1) Request for a case dismissal or a mistrial. That's done routinely when the constitutionality of a trial comes into question. Examples are when evidence was obtained illegally (4th Amendment, search and seizures), when the trial would result in double jeopardy (5th Amendment), when the defendant was forced to self incriminate (5th Amendment), when the trial is taking too long (6th Amendment, speedy trial).
2) If the trial is still to proceed, you will do what millions of people are doing right now: sit in jail waiting for a public defender to become available. This can easily mean months.
Q: Wouldn't that violate the constitutional right to a speedy trial?
A: bingo! Now you understand the problem of calling "right" something that can only be afforded by taking away another "right".
Q: So the right to representation is not a good example of being entitled to other people's work?
A: it would be if things worked the way isingmodel thought it worked. The way it actually works, no.
Q: So isingmodel calls himself an expert but doesn't know any of these things?
A: clearly the word "expert" doesn't mean what he thinks it means.
Q: How is he going to react to being shown to be completely wrong and ignorant about something he thought he was an expert of?
A: he's going to throw a tantrum like a 5 year old, stomp his feet, scream and call me names. It's ok, on my way home from work I bought a box of crayons, he can take them to his safe space until he's over his tantrum.

you clearly said nobody is forcing lawyers to work for free. you cited the fukking ABA in support of your claim LMAO
an enormous body of law and an entire amendment prove you wrong. you got rekt.
then you try to defend yourself saying that its only criminal cases where you have a right to representation (which is weirdly exactly what i just said - its as if you read what i said and then copied it and acted like YOU were the one who said it lol). it doesnt help you.
"attorneys dont for free! cant make em!"

"[inserts irrefutable proof that sy has no idea what she's talking about]"
-sandaltan
and by the way sy, since i apparently have to spoon-feed this to you:
if there is no public defender, or nobody willing to defend an indigent defendant, the courts WILL FORCE AN ATTORNEY TO REPRESENT THEM UNDER PENALTY OF DISBARMENT. the only reason this rarely happens is because there are usually public defenders available for this exact role - but not always. the RIGHT to an attorney exists regardless of whether or not there are any attorneys ready and willing to represent for free.
and they ARE free to the defendant. the defendant pays $0 for this representation
good lord lady. i dont argue with a doctor about medicine because id look like an idiot, but yet here you are

From his cell at the Florida State Prison in Raiford, making use of the prison library and writing in pencil on prison stationery,[2] Gideon appealed to the United States Supreme Court in a suit against the Secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections, H. Gideon argued in his appeal that he had been denied counsel and, therefore, his Sixth Amendment rights, as applied to the states by the Fourteenth Amendment, had been violated.
The Supreme Court's decision was announced on March 18, 1963 and delivered by Justice Hugo Black. The decision was announced as being unanimous in favor of Gideon."

End public education.
Public schools are literal prisons for children and the only place most people will ever experience physical violence.

Well it's pretty easy to argue that with healthcare being a fundamental necessity for a remotely livable life, and a prosperous society, everyone has a just claim to it even if they cannot afford it. The reason we provide free legal representation is exactly because being guaranteed a professional defense is essential to the protection of our livelihoods, and from injustice, and to ensure fairness and equal consideration in society.
Really if society decides that healthcare is something deserving of being a legal right then it will be so, just like we have decided that legal representation is, and absolutely nobody cares what you think about it.
The point is that your whole argument is based on the premise that something provided by someone else de facto cannot be a right, which is empirically false, not based in the reality of any of the world US or otherwise, and is invalidated by your own definition of the word which is the really embarrassing part for you, hence why you avoided it and tried to skirt around it for this long.

Actually I vote, so what I think about it counts just fine, thank you for not understanding the concept of democracy. So your argument boils down to "I want free stuff to be made into a law because I want it". Just like I thought from the very beginning. Not even original frankly. You know, slavery was law too, at some point. Clearly if we make the violation of a right into a law it stops being a violation of a right, according to your infantile understanding of rights.

A: NO.Forced labor is illegal. 18 U.S. Code § 1589.
Whoever knowingly provides or obtains the labor or services of a person--
(1) by threats of serious harm to, or physical restraint against, that person or another person;
Lawyers hired by public defender's office, a government-funded agency that provides legal representation to indigent defendants, and external lawyers who have agreed to represent indigent defendants, with appointment being either on a contractual basis, through which the lawyer accepts an agreed number of cases from the court for the term of the contract, or a case-by-case basis. but if i was in a small county without a public defender, or the public defender got sick or whatever, the court would unilaterally, involuntarily appoint a private attorney from the county to defend a defendant if he/she couldnt afford one. the county would pay that appointed attorney the base fee that a public defender would earn for the work. the defendant would pay $0
it's that simple
the right to have an attorney defend you - even if you cant afford one - is enshrined right in the 6th amendment. i dont know why sy keeps arguing about it.

Public schools are already a complete failure, and your answer to that is to force parents who can afford real education for their child to send them to public schools?

my point is that if you force parents who can afford [private] education (lol at saying that only rich people get a real education) to send their kids to public schools, including all the rich corrupt politicians in washington, then you better believe they'd work hard to improve those public schools and make them great again
they'd have to MAGA the schools bro
and then everyone would get a "real" education - not just the wealthy
dont you get it?

and isingmodel has already answered your own question about healthcare. whether or not a claim is "just" is subjective. what you consider just i might consider unjust and vice versa. its a moot point whether or not we agree with whether the right is "just" or not. in the real world (ironically what you talk about here), "rights" are just whatever we say they are. we dont have a right to healthcare (currently) because the law says so. but we could change that and say wedohave a right to healthcare.
its really simple
in some countries their citizens are afforded certain rights. in other countries not so much.
this is basic
still waiting for you to admit you were wrong about our right to legal representation codified in, ya know, the US constitution

No amount of whataboutism, backtracking on your own words, or hoping everyone else is as retarded and forgetful as yourself, is going to change this simple fact. So once we've established that people can have a right, or a just claim, to a service provided by someone else, then there's no reason why this could not be extended to healthcare.
You may disagree with it in the case of healthcare and that's fine, but that's not what we were arguing - we were arguing on the principle of whether someone can have a right, or just claim, to a service provided by someone else (answer for Slow Sy: Yes).

So what does "right to representation mean"? Does it mean you just show up one day at a lawyer's office and yell "You must represent me! For free! Because it's my right!" No. Feel free to try it, but I can tell you right now, no. But I do know that's what you intend with "right to health". You want to just walk into a doctor's office and expect to be treated without paying. And the answer is, again, no.

You still don't understand how right to legal representation works, do you? See above, I already explained it to you. Also, since you say you want "free healthcare just like free legal representation", you still haven't answered this question I asked a while ago:So you blab about how you want a "right to healthcare". You said you want it to be like the right to representation. Thanks to me now you know how right to representation works: some people volunteered for the job and you have to wait as long as it takes for one of them to have the time to represent you.
So the right to healthcare just like the right to representation you demand is: some people volunteer for the job, and you have to wait as long as it takes for them to have the time to treat you.
But... that's how it already works! You can go to charity funded care, and get in line until they can serve you.
So... you are asking for what you already have? You don't even know what it is you have and what it is you are asking. And which part of that makes you not dumb?
I love it how all I have to do is quote what I already said, makes it really easy. And fun.

im talking about the literal right to representation here in the US - you seem to be talking about a theory or definition of what is a "just right."
you said theres no right to legal representation. i corrected you. you denied it and started talking about other stuff like healthcare and what a "right" is. it seems your entire arguments is based on semantics and your definition of "right."
did you know some cities, towns and municipalities DONT have public defenders? and that if theres no public defender available for a defendant, then the court will involuntarily appoint a local attorney to represent them, for free? ive explained this a hundred times. do you argue with your doctor about medical stuff the way you argue with me about law stuff? do you google your symptoms and then act like you know best about medicine and stuff?
