Haha yeah, I see what ur seeing. I'm on a cut to lower bf%, eating clean(ish). I understand that teens should be eating more to grow. I've had 10%bf before, I'm just doing the usual cut and bulk cycle.
Thanks.

Thanks for the answer! That totally makes sense and that was my thought process. I wasn't sure if I was overthinking it, but yeah, I'll probably make a thread to further verify/brainstorm. Don't want to risk my gains!!

Yeah I am, how would it screw up my metabolism? Like, wouldn't that be temporary?
Well, ideally I'm losing fat for 2 reasons. 1 to look good. 2 to be better at calisthenics. With the extra fat, a +60kg pull up would be harder to pull off as apose to me being lean. It's also to show off in that fashion if you get me.

No need to rush things man. If you feel you must cut don't go below 15% at your age under any circumstances. If you are worried about girls don't be. When I was your age I was 6'2" 160 lbs and got more ass than a toilet seat. Be funny, kind and interesting and girls will like you unless you are truly deformed. You've got the next 30 years to build the body you want so don't fall face on the starting line

Haha, nah **** girls, I'm doing it for the benefit of myself lol. Honestly, being lean and strong at 16 is out of the ordinary. Where as being lean and strong at 24+ is more expected to an extent.

^not sure if were talking about the same guy but i think i remember that german kid who use to post in nutrition misc back then, in the end he had to go on TRT because of the all the diets and restrictions he's done
you shouldn't be doing all of this sht @ 16 y.o man. don't fuk up your growth/endocrine levels for aesthetics that soon. wait atleast till you're 18-21 to start any restriction diets.
eat big and mostly nutritient dense foods, do sports and most importantly have fun. you shouldn't be restricting your calories at all (unless competing in professional sports and aiming for a certain weight class and even then there are different approaches to achieve these goals at your age).
During your growth years your hormones are out of places, it's basically like riding bicycle but naturally so use that to enchance muscle/strength/performance and eat as much as you can (but wisely as said above).

good luck on your fad dieting, catabolic state 70% of the day, losing most muscle you gained over the past year, binge eating supporting, diet goals of 2020.
Theres quite a lot of science out there showing the disadvantages and harm caused to avid lifters doing an OMAD ir IF diet. They are great for people who dont lift and are just trying to increase quality of life and body composition, but terrrrrrible for muscle retention/gain.

I don't really want to bulk, I wanted to cut before I bulk since I've already started cutting. Lol I finally convinced my parents to buy lean foods which was probably the hardest part of the cut haha. Ideally cutting whilst leaner equates to a longer bulk time. So I may cut for another few weeks then bulk forever until I get fat (not fat as **** tho).
Also, do you have links about omad affecting the endocrine system in teens?? I couldn't find one. Thanks.

The science on amount of protein needed for athletes is pretty clear as 1000s of studies have been done involving protein intake and athletes, so that can't be argued. Also dont bring up studies done on "people" vs "athletes" and what daily protein intake is requires as increased protein synthesis and an elevated lean body mass greatly increase those requirements as opposed to 160lb joe blow office job watches netflix every night. But if you eat enough protein ur muscle won't deplete to 0. op i did omad for 2 months and it was great and bad at the same time, the good part is that it kept me really lean, like even when eating above maintainance my lower back and abs were shredded and its a lot easier to stick to your diet when you only eat once because when its finally food time you'll be to hungry to think about candy or any sweets, on the bad side i was pretty much not making any gains and some days felt super weak, i still eat at maintanance now and i make strength gains so its not really the calories, maybe if i ate more i wouldve made strength gains but i had to maintain my bodyfat lower at that time, overall id recommand it you are looking to get lean while getting slower gains or even losing a little depending on calories
(btw another interesting thing while on it is that i was always semi hungry but like the hunger was a lot weaker, now im either not hungry or very hungry, while back then i had this very mild constant hunger which was actually much better because i didnt get his with intense hunger pains randomly and it was more stable)
