Lol was just going to say this too. Lucas had his share of criticism for Episodes 1-3 (Little Anakin too cute, Jar jar too annoying, teenage Anakin too emo and can't act, etc.). They should just end the franchise before they make it worse. Although the only Star Wars movie that would interest me would be a standalone movie focusing on Palpatine's history (his beginnings, sith training, how he got started in politics, etc.)

Pretty incredible that two entire trilogies have been essentially disposable trash.

Just need to hire the best director they can get and let them start from scratch and carry out their vision. Come up with a few memorable characters, have an actual fleshed out storyline that holds up to things like logic and common f cking sense.

Really should not be difficult. Yet they hired JJ Moron so they'll probably f ck it up again.

Interstellar is an example of a Hard Sci Fi movie.

Lucas is not a great director, but he himself has said that. He doesn't like doing it. He shopped around for directors to do the prequels but no one wanted the burden. They all said he should do it himself. His reputation at that time far exceeded his actual ability and no one had the balls to challenge all the terrible decisions he made while making the prequals. He is a great in a big picture and story role, but he needs people around to edit and cut his bad ideas from the good ideas. Disney would be wise to bring him on to help write the story and produce, then get more talented people to create the actual screenplay and direct. Anything would be better than the creatively bankrupt sequel trilogy.

It would be futuristic to us on earth, but in another galaxy life may have began sooner and evolved quicker.

Did people forget how bad the prequels were? The new trilogy was sh!t, but Lucas isn't the solution. They need to bring in people who actually have a vision and passion for the brand. brah, Jar Jar is AMAZING compared to any new character in the Disney trilogy. dead ass serious. He goes from bumbling fool to galactic senator. Jar Jar has more character development than a single one of these new characters

In comparison, the prequels were amazing. It actually had a great story and characters in general. It also had that Lucas touch that is just missing with Disney
