The world is filled with gimmicks, tricks, coping mechanisms, brutal realities and survival of the fittest. Clever people take advantage of people who are less clever and sometimes the mind can play tricks on people.

In that sense a child who is essentially a human still installing its operating system is more likely to fall prey and victim to psychological viruses and spam ware. before the mind can protect itself.

So its impossible to say what is valid and what is insecurity or cope.

The way it manifests in reality is the person closes the doors of other developmental paths before everything is fully installed. Should wait until 18 and let them see if they still want to do if so support them from there as they are a adult as a parent that would be my decision. I believe they can be transgender if they want but at this age the parents should be making the decision regardless of liberal out rage. If the parents are OK with this I see no problem. We live in america they are free to do as they want as long as it's not harming the kid, or forcing him against his will, breaking the law.

You on the other hand think a kid is mentally capable to make a life-altering decision. These kids are just doing the **** for attention, and the parents are unbelievably messed up for allowing their kids to do that nonsense. The damn prefrontal cortex (This brain region has been implicated in planning complex cognitive behavior, personality expression, decision making, and moderating social behaviour.) isn't fully developed until TWENTY FIVE and parents are allowing their kids to transition? Parents that do that deserve to have their kids taken from them and forced to have a castration/hysterectomy so they don't ruin another kids life.
