You'd think us men would learn not to have kids with these women, but we never seem to figure it out. Imagine marriage and kids in 2020, most likely with some dumpster of a sloot you met on tinder who had 50 dinks before yours.

If they're spending less on their children than they receive in child support it's going to be neglect, as you mentioned, and would be obvious and should be dealt with, you don't need receipts to prove a child is starving, homeless, has no clothes, etc.
Agree with this. What percentage receive more than $500 - $600 a month? It can't be that many.

If you suspect neglect then go with that; CPS maybe.

Or even worse, say they're spending it on groceries, electricity, water bills etc (all things they should be providing anyway) and then not spend a cent more on the child.

Something should be done though, srs, I have a buddy who dishes out a few grand every month on child support and the other parent doesn't do a single thing but buy designer sht.

There should be paper trails for child support. If there is money left over it should go into a account for education once they get older or for medical emergencies. As of now my sons mother doesn't have to do squat to better herself since shes getting so much.

It would be a total CF.

How much of the rent is counted? The utilities? The gas for the car (driving kid to school and activities)? How much of the grocery money? Do you need receipts for every trip to the movies? Meal at a restaurant? School activity?

in my state they have no limit any more on the amount, school activities and sports are split 50/50 and separate from child support, same with medical bills

gotta let the white knights just rock in they straightjacket on this one.
The only hoes that get mad at this idea are the ones that have the "I can't have the baby's bottle if i don't have a new purse to match, "If the bills aren't paid the baby suffers" ...LOL isn't that what your job is for? You seemed to be doing aite working at Amazon b4 meetin tyrell.

Agreed 110 percent with this. The system itself is already against men. The mom can be on drugs, have kids in the car while drinking and driving, and still get custody so long as she looks nice to court that day. Receipts, and a card to use the money on can be a start and they can move accordingly. If Miscer is paying 1300 in child support, and at the end of the month, his ex has to have receipts and only 300 in baby material, while the rest is on nail polish and concert tickets, some skeptical hippos gonna be up in dere

At younger ages โ€œchild supportโ€ should literally be needed items like diapers, baby food, special medicine etc. maybe like $100 worth of this material a month or a percentage of the parents weekly income with the rest going to bills, percentage of car note, etc.

Once the kid is like 16 the money should go into an account for them or something.

Also I really dont think a parent should pay child support unless they get half custody unless the parent is proven to be a danger to the child.

Imagine how the dynamics would change if each parent had to pay child support to the other parent during the periods the child was with the other parent.

Child support is literally just separating fathers from their kid but keeping the financial support. Think of how diabolical that is while also considering this:

Nah, it should be removed and each parent should cover the cost of the kid as the wish/when they have it. Divorce should be the last option but it seems like it is the first because of all the perks for women.

I would never give an ex wife money, but I would happily shower my bastard in cash 24/7.

I'm against it because I don't think there's any reasonable way to enforce it without spending dump trucks full of taxpayer money. The gubment would spend $300M on it, figure out it doesn't work, and cancel the program within a few years.

100% bolded...

I believe if fathers were provided a physical itemized list for the amount they send, there would be much less apprehension of the whole process.

Those who disagree that support money is spent of frivolous/superficial even illegal items, this would also prove your claims

Not sure if child support is the same in the US as here in the U.K. But here, it's simply a percentage of the fathers income; not related in anyway to the cost of raising a child. So you end up covering all the costs of keeping the child, with a nice amount left over for the mother to spend as she pleases.

I think the problem here is that people who don't have kids assume the father just jacked on his kid and doesn't want to pay.

The reality for most is usually the female has decided to breakup the family. Now through no choice of his own, the father only gets to see his kid at the weekend.

I will happily pay to raise my child. However, I don't want to pay for the mother's bad spending habits ontop of that.

If they can calculate how much money an adult needs to live on for benefits/welfare, they can also calculate an amount needed to raise a child.

Then the father can meet that cost (food/clothes etc)

I can then spend extra money on my child, without paying for the mothers new lease BMW every month.

same way they do for children in foster care, how many children per house plus parents divided by the rent plus utilities/living expenses

And no not all child support goes to the kid/kids. Child support is separate from medical bills/school expenses/sports/ etc those are a separate 50/50 bill. I grew up in a family law firm, which I started to work at, at 14, then off and on till I graduated law school. I have 100โ€™s of stories where it wasnโ€™t used for the kid even to things like claiming the child needs adhd medicine to return to school, school provides it and the parent still asked for money on top of child support for the medication then when the child went to the parent whoโ€™s paying child supports house wasnโ€™t given the medication. Or kids going to school and the school reporting they arenโ€™t brushing their hair or teeth because the child says they canโ€™t afford to pay for a brush /shampoo/tooth paste when (in this case and a few others) the mother was getting state assistance and 1k plus in child support, Iโ€™ve seen parents take gift cards and money from their kids and even pawn cell phones with plans to get more money, one mother claimed rape and when she wouldnโ€™t get as much per month from the state when the father was in jail recanted her statement to get child support or people that claim child support for the same child in two states. 9/10 it doesnโ€™t get fix or itโ€™s a slap on the wrist....

Pretty sure this is just bollocks

Here earning 40k and supporting 1 child the princely sum of ยฃ78 per week

People wouldnโ€™t just lie on the internet would they?
Notsureifsrs.

It's calculated as a percentage of income, 12% of gross.

Also, how is ยฃ78 a week not 'anywhere near the cost of raising a child'. Don't forget you are a parent too, you are supposed to contribute towards the child financially, not just the father.

(In uk the mother will receive child tax credit aswell as other benefits)

Good luck explaining this to a single mother though. She wants the father to pay for everything whilst she contributes nothing.

are most the laws there supposed to be a 50/50 ruling for custody unless unfit? Most states here are supposed to be a 50/50 joint custody doesnโ€™t happen like that though

IMO if u get divorced and have a kid, u should be neutered or spayed. If you cannot provide for the child, you should be put to death and your organs should be harvested IMO. Also no state sponsored bc or abortions. Pay for your own slooting. The orphans would be absorbed into a military training program. That way, when they inevitably grow up to become damaged people, they can at least be used as cannon fodder. But that's just like my opinion man.

100%

If a women is getting child support, she should have to provide documentation that the money was used to support the kids, and not getting your hair and nails done 3x a month.

Why do you need receipts? How about a law where child support only comes in the form of a credit card that you cannot withdraw cash from? Supporter can fund credit card monthly, and supportee can buy what they need. Purchases are tracked via bank statements in the supporters name. Any purchases made unrelated to child needs would have to be defended by supportee.

Thoughts? Good / bad?
