Better to over prepare than under prepare seems to be the case here TBH, Italy is a good example of it, a few cases, no worries. A couple weeks later whole country is on lockdown.

Our kids didn't go to school today and aren't going tomorrow. Friday they were scheduled to be off anyway, and I'll wager dollars to donuts they start digital learning days on Monday.
I have no problem being considered crazy or paranoid. Zero ****s given.
It's exactly the same mantra as carrying a gun or self defense or anything else. Avoidance trumps all. Disengagement trumps everything other than avoiding in the first place. Ounce of prevention pound of cure. Get ahead of the curve. Whatever you want to call it. Don't wait for somebody to tell you to do the obvious because you're afraid of not doing what everybody else is

The St. Patrick's Day Parade in New York City was postponed for the first time in its history Wednesday amid growing concerns over the fast-spreading coronavirus.
The 258-year-old event, which draws about 250,000 marchers and as many as 2 million spectators, has taken place rain or shine each year since before the Revolutionary War.

My wife is Catholic. I'm agnostic. Makes for some interesting conversations at times but she knew that going in 24+ years years ago. There was a communication from the diocese that they were cancelling all "events" but masses would still be held. I told her (for about the 3rd time in a week) they should just cancel mass or do it via stream.
She said it's not the same as being there and that God would protect them. I rolled my eyes and walked away. Reminds me of the joke Catholics tell where the guy is stuck on a roof during a hurricane and boats keep coming by to help but the man on the roof keeps saying "I'm fine--God has a plan and will rescue me." Guy on roof dies and when he gets to the pearly gates, he says "why did you abandon me??". Peter looks at him and says, "well, we sent four boats for you."

Some of ya'll are so caught up in "media bad!" that you can't ****ing see the real deal happening right in front of you - with multiple countries going down one after the other the same way. I think some of you believe we're in some sort of impenetrable bubble in the US.

Can't sleep tonight for chit. My mind has the best of me. I hope in a month...two months...whatever that I just look like an absolute fool, but I'm genuinely scared for what the next month or so will look like. I honestly can't think of a situation in my life so far so that has me as rattled as I am right now.

This is kind of neat, a bit busy in the target window but the shot counter is cool. Hate the battery life on it though, 50 hour run time. Fck that.

And then we have this guy
"I think everyone needs to stop worrying about this cause it’s not a big deal. Just go along with you daily life and forget about it. There are 100’s of things we are exposed to or take part of willingly on a daily basis that has a greater chance of causing us harm or killing us. People over reacting is causing people like me to suffer the consequences, I’m a truck driver and now I’m being forced to work my full DOT week of 70 hours to haul supply because of all this crap. You want to know what’s deadly? My ass falling asleep behind the wheel of a 40 ton moving vehicle, And I’m not along in this, tons of truck drivers being worked to the bone to haul supply. I have a family that I’m barely getting to see now because of all this bs. I’ve had one day, one freaking day off in the last two weeks. I’m tired as hell and so sick of hearing about this. Hell In all honestly getting this damn virus would be a god send because this lack of sleep and all this on the road junk fast food is killing me a lot faster then this virus could or would."
Local posted that. And it's getting the likes.

Italian hospitals so overwhelmed that doctors are literally proposing a max age to treat in order to focus efforts on younger patients that might actually kick the virus.
If that doesn't wake you the fk up to the severity of this, nothing will. In the year 2020, with the most advanced medicine has ever been, doctors are being forced to sit by and let older patients die. Italian death rate almost at 7%...

Got a USPS tracking confirmation and update on those N95 masks I ordered. Scheduled to arrive Friday. So . . . looks like it will come through. Now the question will be if they are really 3M N95 masks when they get here? Given the shortage and panic, there's still a part of me that is suspicious of bait & switch but all seems legit so far. Think I just got lucky and randomly stumbled upon a place that briefly had some.
why the hell do people continue to buy into the bullsh_t scare tactics of the media?
[img]https://i.imgur.com/RxNO6kq.gif[/ig]
This is what the problem looks like ^
do you think govts are owned by the same people who own the media?
Yes, the italian government, the world health organization, south korean government, chinese government, the whole world basically, is owned by the same people who own fox news and yes, those people want to cripple the world economy by making up this "coronavirus" thing that's really just the flu and should be ignored.

Another Italy update: People with the virus who don't self quarantine can be charged with murder and face 21 years in prison now
But that's just because the ownership of fox news wills it so because...IDK they own the prisons in Italy and will profit from it? 4ea will be along soon to explain I am sure

In the US if you have to prove intent its almost impossible to get a conviction on white collar stuff at least. I've handed over complete cases on insurance fraud where I did 99.9% of the leg work and can't get anyone to follow up

Went to visit my grandpa last week and at the check in, asking you a series of questions at the nursing home to try to prevent it getting there. Hopefully nobody is lying. Curious what measures they’ll take to ensure it doesn’t happen
the above post is not serious and is for entertainment purposes only.
Thanks for your time.

Hopefully it's not a huge deal and it's not as bad as 1918 and people lol at the overreactions. That would be awesome.
But it's also possible that yeah it will be "since 1918" before it's said and done.
The more people realizenow(or a week ago) that it could be that bad the more likely we are to look back and say it was over reaction. It's that catch 22 kind of thing like the IT guys complain about either why do we spend all this money what's it for (when it's working) or why do you spend all this money if it doesn't even work.
Realizing how serious it could be, NOW, is the best way to keep it from happening like that

It just shows how weak we are to pandemics. Hopefully this is not as bad as it seems, but it is a wake up call and causes more to be done in prevention for future viral outbreaks.
Short cuts to success are often paved with lies.
1/13/16: Massive hernia.
5/10/16: Finally back to lifting, light but improving.
