Anyone think this whole thing, potential lock downs/martial law/quarantine, and looting will make any of the anti-2a come to the light?

I suspect the opposite. Even anti-2A will realize hey maybe I want...so they won't be talking about it?

Unless it's "hey maybe I want [what those folks have]" if only they weren't armed

I doubt anything comes to light. During Katrina some real chit went down. Fukrs were like zombies coming out of the cities for your chit. I know some dudes that supposedly had to protect themselves multiple times and were patrolling the neighborhoods at night. They said it was super creepy because there were no lights and you constantly heard gunshots. A lot has changed since then so who knows

I love (and own) the mini 14, it's a very reliable and simple gun. Main reason we use it as our primary rifle in the CDCR is it's pretty idiot proof; they wanted to switch to ARs but too many people with minimal firearm knowledge were not comfortable with it.

Even the most ass backwards person can hit from 100 yards with a mini if it's sighted in properly.

What about the AR makes it not user friendly to noobs? The way the charging handle works is the only thing I can think of that wouldn't be immediately obvious

How is a mini 14 any easier to use than an AR15 pattern?

It sounds like basically too many people who don't know anything have preconceived notions from movies and are skeered of the big black evil assault rifle

Idk. I'm thinking that it may restart the boog potentially. Like what was a concern in VA if people got stupid.

also, not sure if you all heard about this

SWAT comes to guys house at 4:30 am and takes him out. No other info present, and they're investigating themselves.....

I'm on the front lines bro, comes with the territory. I've triaged over 1,000 patients this year myself. No chance I get through the season unscathed -- already did influenza A.

My team is pretty convinced I have it just because my profile fits perfectly and I've had plenty of opportunity for exposure in the E.R. from people that we wouldn't have tested or known had an exposure. My chest CT fits the pattern and so does my timeline, illness pattern, etc

At this point I hope it comes back positive. I don't want to spend the rest of the year waiting for the hammer to drop again, wearing a mask, being paranoid that I'm going to get quarantined again.

So, about that 2A thing . . .

https://www.wandtv.com/news/executiv...a7f3b3aee.html

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Champaign Mayor Deborah Frank Feinen has issued an executive order declaring an emergency in the city.

City officials said the emergency is related to the COVID-19, which is anticipated to cause an impact on the health of community members. Champaign Municipal Code allows the mayor to declare an emergency for a limited time.

Included in the executive order are ordinances that would give the city extraordinary powers to the Mayor.

- Violating parts of the Open Meetings Act
- Ban sale of firearms and ammunition
- Ban sale of any alcohol
- Closing of all bars, taverns, liquor stores, etc
- Ban sale or giving away of gasoline or other liquid flammable or combustible products in any container other than a gasoline tank permanently fixed to a motor vehicle
- Direct the shutoff of power, water, gas, etc
- Take possession of private property and obtain full title to same
- Prohibit or restrict ingress and egress to and from the City
