At what point does this start to trample on the first amendment, and are we OK with it as long as it saves lives?

Do you think there will be challenges to the Governor's orders to close restaurants/bars? Lawsuits over lost revenue?

Where do we draw the line on supporting some freedoms being removed based off speculation on what could happen?

Anyone else going from condition yellow to condition orange EDC?

I know the CDC is fukin lying to our faces. "its like the flu but has the potential to be worse in elders"

why would they be going to all these drastic fukin measures like the fed setting the int. rates to 0%, and forcing business to close? They've never done any measure that comes close to that for a bad flu cycle.

I am taking a bug out bag in my car, and will be edc'ing at minimum 50 rounds of 9mm.

Look at the response on social media of some people. I think that's enough to give you your answer. Ohio closes bars and restaurants for dine in and some restaurants say they won't comply. You can no longer trust the people of this country to come together for a cause.

As far as edc, I've always got a pack, boots, change of clothes and extra rounds in my vehicle. I thought that was normal.

i caught it about 6 weeks ago, it lasted approximately 4 weeks, the cough is still lingering. the first five days were actually really bad, it physically hurt like i got beat down. after that i was good enough to work but still feeling it. i did not get tested because at the peak of it i didnt even know what corona virus was, once i had recovered enough and came back to work one of my coworkers told me about corona.

this is in washington state, seattle area

Made a whole post about this, but it got merged with the clusterfuk giant corona thread. But basically,

The death rate is WAY under 1% and probably closer to 0.1% like the flu. Look at how many tests Korea is administering. 97% of those tested don't have it. They are testing everyone. In Germany it's about 92% tested who don't have it. Both have death rates well under 1% because they aren't just catching sick people who are hospitalized. They are catching the mild cases by testing everyone. If you tested for the mildest fukking cold strain but only tested those hospitalized with respiratory symptoms, that death rate would be 3-5% too.

This whole thing is based on peoplenot understanding how the statistics they are comparing are generated

The ONLY danger here is then mass hysteria. I'd like a public door handle at this point and not be concerned.

No doubt it could get ugly, but should we allow fear to drive decisions affecting our freedom? Why are people arguing for and supporting closing schools down instead of taking their kids out of school, closing businesses down instead of not patronizing and/or working from home, banning assembly instead of not assembling themselves? Trampling people's rights and robbing them of their livelihood because "this could get ugly". That's a dangerous stand.

I agree with this largely EXCEPT transmissibility is higher with covid 19 and it's increasing in the number of people affected rather than stabilized like the flu. The fact is, the actual death rate is lower than advertised, but it can't be extrapolated like the flu in populations that are ramping up. It's still comparatively high.

I panic bought a ccw finally. I ended up with a Glock 30 sf. It's not the HK I wanted lol but at least it will conceal.

It was, instead, a peaceful demonstration for gun rights. Yesterday he banned gatherings of more than 100 people because of 45 case of covid19. Today that demonstration would be illegal.
But that's ok, wasn't important. "people can't ****ing be responsible" so we'll cheer as the government imposes restrictions.

Because just like the other side some want to pick and choose what freedoms they defend. The majority should suffer because of the bad decisions of a few, right? Imagine if they had implemented a one month ban on AR-15 sales after Vegas due to the threat of copy cat attacks. Everyone would have lost their ****. One month ban on going to a restaurant? Perfectly fine as long as it saves one life.

I always err on the side of freedom and in general most of the things like school closures and cancellations (of PUBLIC schools) are constitutional. Forced closure of businesses is likely not. Quarantines, I'm not sure. States in general have tried giving the people a chance to get their chit together and truth be told, people are either too selfish or stupid to modify their behaviors voluntarily. I'm sure you saw the NOLA videos.

I'd be fine with zero intervention as long as we have a system for tracking who is still going out spreading this **** around - those people living on yolo mode need to move their asses to the back of the line when it comes to treatment. They're also opening themselves up to litigation, same as someone who goes out and gets HIV then runs around infecting everyone. Freedom comes with responsibility.
