Picking up mine later today. Also ordered plates for work too. Hopefully those don’t take too long, seen ar500 plates take 8-10 weeks to ship.

I’m a fan of the 8514 posted above. May just pull the trigger on that one. Dropped by my local gun store today and the guy working there recommended a Saint. Any opinions on that brand?

I've created so many new rounds of 300 blackout over the past few weeks. Getting blisters from cutting up this 223 brass. This madness needs to stop. I'm running out of room for it all.

I think that the Ruger is a better deal but the new Saint Victor is well set up:

IMO the Edge is typically over priced... Not because it is bad, but because if I am spending $1300 on a rifle I want one with the brand recognition to hold resale value. LOVED the weight and it shot nice enough even with the pencil barrel, but I am not dropping mags through it.

The base model stuck me as a basic AR that wasn't crap and would do the job, but it wasn't "nice". (Never shot it)

Victor looks solid, but unless it is near the price of OP's Ruger not seeing the reason to pick it.

The 8514 is just that good of a deal.

A few years back there was a deal on a Colt LE6920R Trooper with a Centurion Rail that is the best deal I've ever seen on an AR. $630.00. People balked at that at the time.

I like the look of the EDGE a bit more than the Ruger. I have no experience with AR's but want something for home defense / range. Would most likely keep it forever so I don't have an issue paying for something reliable. Aesthetics is a factor as well as performance of course.

dammit @ the ammo situation

In the meantime I'm ... google search: 'what all do i need to get into reloading 5.56?' site:ar15.com

reloading a Mk262 clone and a 5.56 pressure 75gr Gold Dot load and a cheaper 55 grain/m193ish load is looking like a more and more attractive option. I've been toying with it for a year now and it kinda makes me all tingly inside thinking of a new hobby like that so maybe now's the time...

Right now putting together an Aero build with a factory trigger is about $800, so the Saint Victor might not be a bad option.

maybe some recommendations/discussion in this area are also warranted

I've got an old Ncstar AK chest rig I use, []https://www.google.com/search?q=ncst...s&tbm=isch&sa]but am in the process of looking for something new myself. It's not bad but I want something that'll fit tighter with my AR mags which are kinda loose in it
