1) so you can’t pull trigger at all
2) so you can only pull the bolt but not trigger
3) trigger safety

way ahead of yah brah. currently got 1.5 elk, 2 deer, 1 turkey, 6 ducks, 5 doves, 1 antelope, 12 walleye, 3 pike, and 6 trout in my freezer

tempted to buy a .243 for antelope. currently use a 7mm rem mag for elk and deer. although sometimes use a 30-06 for deer and elk as well depending on how I'm feeling that day...

Gonna take hunting back up this winter as well. Already taking fishing back up. Not related to CV19 I just want to source my own fresh fish/venison instead of buying beef/pork from the market.

the best caliber is the one you are most familiar with and confident shooting. anything from .243-.338 lapua will drop an elk. comes down to which round you are most comfortable with
