I'm still a mod, just gross incompetence on the bb.com side of things. I agree, thread needs more CT people - what the actual fuk at no one talking about the highly curated emoji game in the OP.

Just throwing this out there again. The antibody test are so inaccurate they shouldn't be held to any standard. So the people testing positive again are going off these test. Straight from a microbiology manager. We do not have a legitimate test like that, we barely have a test accurate enough to say if your positive or not.

So who thinks what opens up on May 1st? There is a LOT of States that end their shelter then, none have a plan to roll out yet. I think we will see backtracking coming soon, we just don't have the test.

Hey man I have the opinion this is more infectious than the flu and slightly less deadly. But comparing it to COPD deaths..? Let's say 1 person walks into a restaurant that is infected. The restaurant has 200 people in it. Within 1 hour 42 people are infected. the death rate doesn't really matter at that point because you have multiple people dying from 1 person.

edit and for reference my restaurant holds 632 people in it at max.

Well, from an article I've read it takes one infected person coming into contact with 200 people for another infected case to emerge-statistically. The R0 even at it's highest wouldn't allow for 42 people to be infected at a single contact with an infected person, however if there long enough and/or with poor ventilation or small enough arrangement maybe this would be the outlier that eventually contributes to the R0. I would say the death rate absolutely would matter, if it's that contagious the differences in outcome would be massive. We're operating blind on both infection rate and death rate thanks to craptacular testimg, which is nice...
