completely agree. Slowing the spread and telling everyone to stay inside just keeps hospitals more empty. but at what cost? Our economy is gonna be wrecked. I think the faster everyone gets it and builds immunity the better..lots of people on twitter were saying we should keep the economy completely closed until we have a vaccine...the people who want to keep everything closed have no idea when they would realistically open things

The longer you **** around with your half assed measures the longer your economy will be held hostage to the virus with lockdowns, partial lockdowns, restricted movement etc etc. With re contiminations etc

Stop being a bunch of beta pussies and handle lockdown until the virus is gone. Its not rocket science. You isloate. The virus stops spreading. Of those that have it most will recover, eventually if done properley there are F all new infections and you get it under control and can reopen your economy.

Uncle's girlfriend decided to go out, and she gave it to her dad, who passed away. Now everyone in her family has it. This is in Peru though, which is MUCH worse, and they locked down early.

youre an idiot..the virus is still active in china. it aint ever going away bud. You can lock down for 12 months its still going to spread because people touch surfaces and its transmits thru particles in the air. Its already under control or non existent in most counties...some counties have less than 20 cases....no reason you cant open factories and large stores while still maintaining distance and proper safety protocols...let me ask you this question since weve been locked down for more than a month...at what point DO you re-open the economy?

Please don't judge all of us Americans by VegasLifter26. Recent NBC poll suggests 80% of Americans are concerned of things opening too quickly. VegasLifter is just slow and uneducated. Dude doesn't realize that the economy is going to tank worse when the shock hits Americans of how bad this pandemic can really get once everything opens up. Hahaha moron, we had 80 new cases per day, this is down to 3 per day because we actually did lockdown properley. We had something like 1,400 infected - 75% are recovered and the majority left are expected to recover.
Guess what happens when theres no new cases and everyone has recovered.

Then its gone.

We aren't a tiny population trapped on an island with giant birds and spiders with 3 miles between homes. The entire world wants to and does immigrate here. Including plenty of people from your part of the world.

We have 50k deaths but almost all of those are in cities bigger than your entire country. My county is rural with a 1m population and... 2 deaths.

My opinion is not until we have a highly efffective (> 50%) treatment or an effective vaccine. Bare minimum is to have evidence that people can develop immunity to it and then increase antibody testing to where everyone can get tested within a month.

And Miami/Dade reports a 6% antibody infection rate, 165,000 cases. The 15x active infection figure in the article is an understatement - the tests took two weeks to carry out. Miami/Dade has under 300 deaths, a ~0.2% death rate (noticing a trend)?

That is one idea...what about the "bare minimum" I said? Trump has the power and ability (if he used it) to get companies working on better (more accurate) antibody tests and more of them. He constantly deflects the testing question and, if you are being honest, admit that he does.

I have yet to even hear a group of scientists confirm that immunity is guaranteed possible with COVID.

You need to keep doing this until new cases per day start going down.

When we started lockdown around 5 weeks ago ~march 20th, new cases per day kept going up, first few weeks its looked like it wasn't working. But then we're largely not ill disciplined dumbasses like you guys and understand how the strat and the projections work.




You realise if you don't socialise.. then it doesn't spread... then as people recover less people have it.... so it can't spread as much... eventually so few have it that its no longer a threat and you open up everything back up.

You are kind of stagnating at about 30k new cases per day. Not going up or down, so your half assed locked down measures are stopping it sky rocketing, but not enough to reduce new cases.
Of the base that has it, people will recover. If more people recover than new cases appearing, the base goes down. As the base it spreads less. However you need lockdown and precautions for a while cause even when recovered it can linger on.
